No I would not intentionally cause physical or emotional hurt. However - if you are doing something wrong - I will not hesitate to point it out, or try and stop you.
Sometimes when children need to be corrected, you must curtail their naughtiness, and they could perceive that you are hurting them emotionally - but you are instead trying to teach them to be a better person.

politeness is appreciated, but it will not solve much and will not change much, so if this little amount will do, i would certainly avoid giving too much information and be left holding the bag for wrong or poor intentions that were not the bases of the content to start with, framing of the questions isn't or can't be done many times and it is very misleading leading to have so much desire to do the right thing, but,,,still there usually isn't enough information, to give all that you would like to for an answer (decision)because it wasn't well put, so use what you feel good about and never loose sight of the fun of being wrong because it not that big a deal you just try to do what sounds right to you,

Hurt is a part of our lives, like it or not.
It does depend on the circumstances, like a few of the answers addressed. Intentionally hurting someone physically is always wrong, emotionally can not be avoided for anyone.

Depending what is at stakes.
If I don't like the guy I'm going out with, well, I'll dump him, right? It will hurt him emotionally, right? But going out with him for the rest of my life - would be hurting myself, changing myself into something else wich in the end he might not even like. Selfish, yes.
It is not good to hurt with no reason, I hope I wouldn't do that.

It depends on the situation.
Today I basically had my husband kick our friends out. They just keep coming over uninvited and stay as late as they feel like it. I just didn't feel like dealing with it today and it is rude what they do. I feel a little bad about it but at the same time I have time to myself.
