I was saved at the age of 54, saved FROM Christianity, when I read 1 Cor. 13: 11 "When I was a child I spoke as a child I understood as a child I thought as a child; but when I became a man I put away childish things."
This verse should perhaps should not have been written and included in the Bible. It backfired, you could say. I would never claim that the Bible is devoid of wisdom nor that I do not hold Jesus in high regard; this verse made me realize that, for me at least, the incredible, contradictory, even absurd and ridiculous claims of the Bible were the childish fairytale beliefs that I needed to be rid of.
I gave up the faith that I have been pretending for years to have, but did not. I finally found the courage to admit that it made no sense to me, to accept that and to work on dumping the guilt and feelings of inadequacy that Christianity had dumped on me for years. I guess I never really liked a philosophy whose basic premise was that I'm a filthy rotten piece of trash that desreves to go to hell. I played the part of a Christian as a social custom that I had been raised with and at times I thought that I was on to something, but there was never really any sense of an outside power guiding my life. I decided to be honest with myself and with God, whom I still believe in in some sense, and live a life that is more honest to myself and my true feelings and understanding. Now that I see the world in the cold hard light of reality, without anyone to turn to but myself for inner strength, I am more at peace with myself than I ever have before. Please accept my apologies if you cannot understand how someone could come to the opinions that I hold. Perhaps you never will.

sure, MS, i think Revelation does point out that folk would be saved after Jesus' 2d coming, yet that's because of the fact i think that he will are available in the previous or in the time of the Tribulation (that's an fullyyt distinctive query). **** yet you misunderstand approximately it being a call for of salvation for a guy or woman to no longer have actual data that Jesus is God and exists; the scripture you're referencing purely praises the guy who would not want that data. yet there is likewise the data that that isn't the case ----- each and all of the apostles and each and all of the 1st believers, such because of the fact the various spoken approximately after His resurrection and in the previous and at His ascension, observed Him ---- maximum surprisingly Thomas, who refused to have confidence that He'd risen except he became waiting to yet his palms and hand in His wounds (that's the scripture you're concerning). the only requirement that a guy or woman should be saved is that a guy or woman recognize that Jesus Christ is God the Son, 2d guy or woman of the Trinity, Who got here in a physique, died to pay for our sins, and rose lower back ---- and then to invite Him to forgive his/her very own sins and settle for His forgiveness. no longer the rest. Jesus suggested that the only element that's needed for a guy or woman to be saved/born-lower back/etc. is to have confidence on the only which God despatched, talking of Himself, yet there are various different verses that decrease back this up. You had an thrilling query. i'm hoping this solutions it for you.

I was saved when I was 11 at summer camp. But then I relized that I believe in science, and religion is just there to make up for what we can't prove. I respect those who are christians, most of my friends are true christians. I don't regret not being a christian, in fact I still value many of the ways in taught me to be, as I still love to help others.

I too was baptized as an infant and raised Protestant.
I converted to Catholicism and was confirmed.
I am Christian.
I have always had my faith and have been blessed with the Holy Spirit.
Why do re-born Christians scream "be saved"?

You're also a non-believer.
A non-believer in Allah, Zeus, Poseidon, Ra, etc.
Why haven't you asked them to save you!?!?
