It does get awfully heated in here sometimes.

It seems that most atheists have studied various religions and tried to understand them before leaving them. I wonder how many of the "Bible-thumpers", as you say, have explored and tried to understand where an atheist is coming from. Why can't they stop yelling long enough to discuss some of this? Perhaps they could win some atheists back to the cause. More honey, less vinegar.

Yes. Just as there is a war on good and Evil everywhere. There is a war against Christians and Muslims right now that most people are not aware of. There were Jews prosecuted throught history because people were battleing between the faiths. It is ying and yang. Everyone wants to teach and spread their views...whether they are right or wrong they believe in thier heart is right. Evil will win this war for awhile But the Good will win the final battle. It's what we were created for--what we where designed to do. Take in information. Process it. Debate it...and then finally believe in it. Best of luck. I hope you choose the right side.

Don't know but it sure looks that way by their language. Also between conservatives and liberals, and even among some are against Q&A participants. Wonder does that mean war promotes war.

There is a war going on and will go on as long as time exists. The war is against God and Satan. All peoples are involved on one side or the other, You cannot straddle the fence.

It certainly seems like it....and it's getting old.

I'm an atheist and I'm not part of this war....in fact I don't understand it.

I believe in respecting a persons right to decide for themselves whatever the heck they believe or not believe.

With people dying in Iraq and elsewher in real wars, I think your use of that metaphor inflates the disagreements here beyond their actual importance.

It is not a war, everybody is looking for the Truth. But not everyone wants to accept theTruth.

I prefer to call it a war between bible-thumpers and sane, rational, thinking people. :)

sort of. some of us enjoy asking each other questions others are into forced conversion or "deprogramming" same thing. I just enjoy talking. Trying to understand and make each others lives better by what we know.
