Hydrogen peroxide, or at least some sort of antiseptic applied to the pierced area. Turn the piercing twice a day, remove briefly if you like to clean it- I wouldn't, the turning and antiseptic should have taken care of everything.

Watch the area for any signs of discoloration, as those might signify infection or an allergic reaction to the metal.

well u should definatly take it out once and awhile to clean the area. then soke the ring thingy in hot water to kill any germs. you should probably do this every 3-4 days. but if its new, maybe every other day or even EVERY DAY if you wanna be extra careful. try to only have real gold or silver in ur lip because if its nto real gold or silver, you are more prone to getting an infection. well thats it and i hope i helped!

If the person who did the piercing didn't tell you that, you didn't go to a professional, and you should see a doctor to make sure everything is OK.

I think that's something that the professional should have told you before you left his shop! But if not yahoo search it!
