Haven't seen this one done before, so who do you think would win ?

Smokin Joe was so fast, but then Liston was such a beast. It's hard to decide..

Won 1964 Olympic Gold medal at Hwy wt
His fight trilogy with Ali may be the best in history

Liston - W 50 (KO's 39) TF 54 - W pct 93% - KO pct 72% - wins over Patterson[2], " Big Cat" Williams, Z. Foley - KO'ed by Ali{2} and L. Martin (average fighter) - #15 ranked puncher - #71 ranked fighter

It is hard to decide this bout. What will happen first, Liston quitting or Frazier getting clocked. If Liston tastes his own blood, he will quit. Frazier will come forward and pressure Liston. I pick Liston to TKO Frazier in rd 9.

This is a tough call. Liston was a big man with a good jab and power in either hand versus the relentless Joe Frazier with the devastating left hook. I believe for the first 7 rounds Liston would outbox Joe with Joe landing a few of his patented hooks shaking Liston. Liston would also catch Joe coming in with hard punches which would stop Joe in his tracks. In about the 13th round I see Joe finally getting to Liston with a crunching left hook sending the big man to the canvas and winning by knockout.

Smokin' Joe KO round 12. But it wouldn't be an EASY fight for him. Smokin' Joe would be walking out that ring with a lot damage to his face. I see this one being a battle of guts and a slugfest. Frazier wins it because I believe he had more character than LIston and would have sucked it up when the fight got tough.

I'd have to take Joe Frazier if threy TRULY had a oppurtunity to be unadulterated in their match, without the "outside" influence. Though Sonny Liston was indeed a raw BEAST, he was also employed and endorsed by the mafia. Who has the main financial stake in boxing? THE MAFIA! Going head up, I'd take Frazier, simply because the man was relentless in his attack. And, he had the skills to keep on coming and coming and coming. Liston was more of a bully in the ring, that wanted to scare you out of the fight if anything.

I would say Frazier would win. It stands to reason, since Frazier defeated Mohammad Ali, and Ali defeated Sonny Liston.

Hard to call. Liston was very slow and lumbering, but only had to catch a guy good once, and often did.
Frazier took a while to get started, and since his arms were short, he did get hit often, but he could really take it, and his left hook was unbelievable, and very fast.
