By carers do you mean caretakers?

If so then NO. It's not right for anyone to prod another human being like cattle regardless of what they may be doing wrong.

If she is not happy with the service she is getting from her caretakers then she or a family member needs to take it up with the head of staff.

Nooooooooooo, care work for the elderly is hard work done properly. You need to ask her how she would feel is the boot was on the other foot.

Sorry if this does sound hard but appreciate the carers have so many demands put upon them.

If it's a case of her not being in charge of her faculties that guess you need to keep on telling her until it sinks in.

I really wouldn't appreciate being prodded with a stick by some geriatric nutter, there are many ways they could extract vengeance.

your mother has no rights to do that, they are the ones who have to put up with her obnoxious ways, they are patient with her, and all she does is prod them, these are people not pieces of meat...care workers have alot to take on board...they all work very hard to look after people like your mum...take the stick of her and tell her to respect the ones who help her....

As long as it is only a little prod, I do not see why not

My wife's aunt used to hit hers with anything that came to hand. She got herself expelled from her care home and finished up in a high security nursing home where they were not particularly gentle with her.

It's quite a common reaction for older people who have lost their inhibitions about correct behaviour. However, if your mother's still capable of rational thought you'd better warn her of the consequences.
