My girlfriend believes that if you breathe into your cupped hands and then sniff it then you can but I reckon that she's wrong. Who is right?

You know when your breath smells bad because you can taste it! Another person above mentioned to lick the back of you hand. That is true, it does work if you want to check out your bad breath! Lick it wait a few seconds then smell it!

Of course you can smell your own breathe. Your nose is directly over your mouth. Although you dont need to sniff it from your hands. If you eat something with a lot of garlic you will smell it off your breath as well as taste it..

She's wrong to smell you breath you have to lick something and then sniff it when the water has turned into vapour to see how bad it really is.

If your breath is pretty bad, then you usually could smell it even without your hands.

She is wrong. If you really want to smell your breath, floss your teeth, then sniff the floss. You might be a bit shocked!!

Depends on two things, what you have been eating and how often you brush your teeth.
I mean if I eat a large doner kebab with everything on it and neglect to brush my teeth tomorrow, my wife will complain about the dragon breath!
