How can they be?
Some may resist it by diverting their mind into other accomplishments such as prayer, social work etc.
But most of them tend to be just human beings, with all their weaknesses.

The question is fair. But the answer lies in looking at the reason you are asking this question.

Passion is a very fundamental and inherent part of all human lives. Organized religion (be it any) cannot rid each and every one of its members of passion. The point to see is that a majority of nuns are blemish-free - if that is all that you are looking for.

Your question is not fair! I must say! People in all walks of life commit a sin against the state they have been called into!

First of all what is an extra marital affair, the breaking of an oath to fidelity! And at what rate is this rampant in the world! Whose life are we discussing, populace who constitute less than 2% of the worlds population?

In which soever part of the world there are people who are not faithful to their call! It is wrong to judge any person on how they destroy society! We are no one to judge, be sympathetic because one day we too can fall!

There is no room for any assumptions without basis . we do not hear any complaints against the Nun as much as we hear about the priests . the reason si that female spcies of all beings have a better control overe thier senses than the male species.
You might have seen hat in the case of animals that a dozen males would be running afer one female and fighting among themelves fiercely. You canb not show one instance of some few or even one femalse specie of any after the males. Even among the humans you seeonly the males who are chasing after the females . so in this respect the females are definitely superior to the male shameless creatures.Chivalry itself is the bility to master control over all senses . men , most men are lacking in this . Most men seem to be under th eimpression that sex alone is th epurpose of life , for getting the fact thaqt it alone is the royal path to death and disease..
Religion should have taught the preachers to master control over their senses and if the senses master control over the preachers the result is disastrous . The religion is denigrated and humiliated. what is the difference beween ans ordinary man and the man in the service of God , the priest?
,May be the ordinary man has bettere control of his senses as he is afraid of the society . but the priest is not even afraid of god as he engages himself in debaucherous actvities in the name of God. to forgive such people is to punish and insult the religions. they must at least be sent out of the church and stripped of the status of a priest and declared a non-believer in the particular religion. when the religions calls ordinary unknoiw pwoplw as sinnwersa why should the religion is soft to the sinners inside the church itself ? is it because the highes priest himself is perhaps liable to such accusations ?
As long as there are no complaints against the nuns , it is absurd to take ill of them without any grounds .
The nuns are really blemishless.
all male members of the churches shall bve sent out the churches and shall not be engaged in the servicxe of god .

but the only reason we are hearing about priests is ecuase of it being with young boys... nuns havent broken any federal law that i know of concerning it

Nuns are cloistered (they don't have any face to face contact with any outsiders) so they have much less of a change of being tempted in that kind of way.

I just experienced some passion about an hour and a half ago, but I'm pretty sure it was within the bounds of the law.

Chances are they aren't blemish free. I expect we don't hear about it because so many orders require their novitiates to take a vow of silence.
