True, but America is the only country that really matters in the world.

What is your point? Yes, many know this.
DO you know that every country has people living here? That's why America is different than other countries. America is made up of people from everywhere, intermarrying and getting along. We have more people in numbers than are actually in their home country, for many countries.
DO you know no one cares for peace as actively as Americans? We give more money and material to others, and somehow everyone wants America to police the planet, (which I don't want to do thank you - you do it.) Why does everyone call on America to help first? Call Russia, China, India, or Australia first for a change.
What is your point?

Americans are the people of United States, a country totally inhabited by immigrants. Pure Americans are the Indians who are the first nomadic settlers here and the Englishmen who recorded its discovery. There are other Americans who lives in the Latino areas.

How does this have anything at all to do with religion and spirtuality?

And frankly, what else do you expect? The US is currently the single most powerful and influential country in the world. Of course they're arrogant and self absorbed. I bet Rome was too in it's time. So was Greece. So was England. It's the nature of things.

But nothing lasts forever.

Great question. As an Argentinian (therefore an 'American') I totally agree with you. Someone has suggested calling people from the USA, 'US-ers', but maybe this is too ironic. I'd suggest Unionists, for instance. But give the words 'America' and 'American' back to all of their proprietors.

Yes, we know...and it is obvious that while you do have a grasp of the english language, "Check Spelling" is most likely an 'american' institution.

Many of us do realize that and respect you all greatly. It's just that the others here are much louder than us these days.
