i have always been happy with Tidy Cats multiple cats litter. also, it is suggested to have one litter box for each cat + 1 (if more than one cat in the house). also, it may be partially the food you are feeding them. try switching foods, and make sure you don't give them table scraps or people food. this can really add to the odor.

If you mean the litter like the rocks smell you might want to just pick a different brand next time because I get any kind the store has and it never has a smell. But if you mean the stuff in the litter then I think all the brands you get it will still smell. If your litter box doesn't have a lid then you might want to get one they help with the smell a lot. Also you can buy air freshener that will help a little to spray around the box.

Good luck finding something that works!

Do NOT use clumping litter!!!! Use something natural like Feline Pine. Not only does clumping litter make a mess because it ends up being spread all over the house but it also gets stuck to the bottom of their paws. Kittens and most cats, because they like to be kept clean, usually end up licking or biting this off which is NOT good because this litter is not meant to be eaten. This can make the kitten/cat sick and usually causes bad diarrhia. Kittens and cats like natural litter because it makes them feel more comfortable when they "go" because they feel more like they are outside. I have a Bengal kitten and she has the most rancid horrible smelling poop and I use Feline Pine which usually works fine but if you ever need something a little extra you should buy some kitty litter baking powder and just sprinkly a little on the litter.

I love Fresh Step clumping litter. I also suggest using litterbox liners (alot like plastic trash bags that cover the litter box) which you can easily pull the draw strings of to pitch the used litter with no mess. I keep the litter box for my two cats in my bedroom and have absolutely no problem with odor. I also have a mat beneath the box to catch any excess litter grains that the cats might track out. Make sure your scooping 1x per day and replacing at the whole thing at least 1x per week. The liners will REALLY help. If you need to get the smell out of your box, I suggest soaking with lysol and hot water, letting it air dry, and then placing a liner and new litter in the box. I hope this helps- I used to have the same problem and this has worked fabulously for me!

I wonder if your kittens are eating the horrible cat food we have here in the US that is 2/3 corn (read the ingredient label on the bag). A better diet will improve the smell of the excrement. My cats who have a raw meat diet have very little poop as the meat is totally utilized and appropriate for their bodies and it isn't smelly at all.

I also use World's Best Cat Litter which is the appropriate place for the corn. You can sometimes get large bags of the corn stuff at a feed store. You might look into that.

There are two brand that I use. I use Fresh Step or Tidy Cat for Multiple cats. I use to scoop out the litter boxes either ever day or every other. I have a two Littermaids - automatic litter box cleaner. I love them, it reduces the odor.

Can you get Fresh Step or Arm and Hammer?

You need to change the litter box or scoop out the poop either right away or as soon as you can. When you walk in the house, there shouldn't be an odor.

I use fresh step but before putting it into the litter box I line the bottom of the box with baking soda. I also apply a small amount of baking soda daily when I sift through it.. I think it helps. Most people do not know I have a cat until they see him.

I use the plain unsented clumping litter from wal-mart. My cat boxes don't smell(3 covered boxes, 2 cats and weekly scooping). I feed my cats high quality cat food, this not only makes them poop less it also helps keep them from not being very smelly. I ran out of the food I feed them and got cat chow and Wow did that smell!! I tossed the food in the garbage and got the good stuff again!

I think it's called odor max or something...it's at PetsMart.

It's a big orange box, totally flushable (organic type material), and is citrus scented...makes a HUGE difference in my family of 4 cats!!!
