I say yes you can, ive seen it before, the zebra finch is quick and can get out of the way of the budgie if it feels threatened. Though some budgies are quite aggessive, so try it and see what happens i say. They seem to be friendly towards each other anyway from what you've said. My cousin had an injured wild meadow pippit in a cage with a canary, and they lived happy together for years. Ive bred birds for many years in avairies, and have had household birds in a cage. Watch and if the budgie isnt taking to the finch at all, open the 2 doors to both cages and put them together, and separate that way if things don't seem to be going too well.

ahh i think they can live together ,but generally hookbills are very aggressive and can even kill small birds like finch and canaries but there are exceptions , like in the case of my bird , they are living together for years.I almost have 200 budgies and more than 150 finch , 10 parrots ,3 macaws and some other birds.I have a different home for them in kolkata.u can try out whether they could live or not .BEST OF LUCK! hope that helped.

Hi. the general response for this is no, you can not.. since hookbils (parrots) can do heavy damage with their strong beaks. Parrots can kill other birds easily, especially when not supervised. Also, it is not advisable to house birds from different continents together (Zebra Finch from South Africa and Budgies from Australia).
However, there will always be exceptions as each bird has a different personality. You *might* be able to get away with it if you have a huge aviary.
Hope that helped.

No, I wouldn't put them in together because budgies will bite the Finches, Canaries and Quails feet really bad.
I have a budgie and a canary in my room they sing to each other as well but when my female canary has her fly my male budgie attacks her.
