Yesterday I put 2 turkey legs in the crockpot with water and potatoes and veggies and I meant to turn it on but it didnt go on so all of that just sat for like 8 hours. I cooked it and it smells fine but I'm nervous to eat it, do you think it's ok?

The USDA has guidelines on food safety - check em out. usda.gov and then click on Food & Nutrition, then click on Food Safety... I'd follow whatever they say.

I agree with the first answer mostly. It will be okay if it doesn't have mayo or any toppings like that. omg Subway sounds sooooo good right now, I'm eating boring Sun Chips lol! EDIT: yeah, if you live in humidity then no I wouldn't if I were you. but don't "toss it out and order a new one" make one from organic/natural ingredients and maybe no meat (:

It's poultry, 8 hours well, it it was cold out and the stuff sat all day I would be Leary, I don't really know but you can try it and just see.
Good luck w/that. Sorry I don't know more about it. I did the same thing but only a roast and it was for 9 hours and it was fine.

No, throw it out. You can't always smell the germs in food when they build up to a level that can be dangerous for you to eat. Be safe, throw it out or give it to the dog if you have one. Dog's are not as susceptible to those types of germs as we are.

Too risky for me. I don't need to end up in the emergency room puking my guts out.
