The first thing that you should do is call protective services. Once you have done that, contact a family law attorney and file an immediate motion for custody.
You owe it to your kids to take some action. Best of luck to you!

Hire a Private investigator or talk to your children about what goes on. Make documentation on things that you catch that are ouit of the ordinary or just plain wrong. Call CPS. They are required to investigate every call. Tell them the situation and that you aren't trying to cause problems, but you are concerned about your children. I'm trying to find out the same thing myself. I have a neighbor who has admitted to a dependency on sleeping pills and negligence to her 3 year old son who has been caught throwing huge knives at our dogs. She does not need to have a child in her care. Best of luck and thank you for being a caring father.

id ask kids very very discretely if the are happy with the mum and let them know they can tell u anything.if you really feel they are in any kind of danger do what ever it takes to get them out of that situation.go to social services or police but they will ask for some sort of proof.because she drinks and takes drugs isnt enough to get them taken off her unbelievable but true.hope things work out.

Hire a private investigator and an attorney. Get actual proof, rantings of an angry soon to be ex are taking lightly in all courts in less there is actual proof.

File for emergency custody and also file for custody. Emergency custody will give you custody until the hearing for custody and get the children away from the bad mother.

Get pictures of her doing this and witnesses.
Go to court show your evidence and tell them that you could provide a better lifestyle for them and that being around such behavior is bad on them in many different ways.

you can call child protective services and they will check it out, but they have to have proof of what is happening, if possible see if you can get pictures. you can also file for custody of your children and bring this all up in court, of course you also have to have to proof to do that.

1) Talk to your attorney (please say you have one).
2) Call CPS - have them check out the children's current (custodial) living situation.
3) Make sure YOUR living/life situation(s) are better than hers...and stable.
4) Get ready and prepared to have your children living with you most of the time.
GOOD LUCK.

start documenting instances when you know she is doing stuff or putting your kids in danger.
Call a lawyer and inquire about getting sole custody of the kids.
