.......all about love, peace and acceptance............. until you disagree with them.

Then the hate and threats of hell spew out. Isn't that hypocritical ?

It's a case yes I'll love and accept you........ as long as you believe as I do.

The Jewish, Christian, and Muslim scriptures send decidedly mixed signals as to how one shoud treat people of other faiths, or even members of the same faith who differ on certain points of theology. "Humans are all brothers and sisters, but, if they should be seen kneeling on their left knee during prayer instead of the right, drag them out into the town square and burn them alive. The Lord wills it."

It’s a sad spectacle how many fundamentalist Christians have hijacked the faith, and are merely using it as window dressing to hide their prejudices, fears, and acrimony of the world. The truth is, the goodness, sincerity, and authenticity of a Christian can directly be measured by how amicable, loving, and affectionate he is when you disagree with him. The true litmus test of any Christian, and whether he is truly a follower of Christ, is the extent that he returns hatred with warmth, violence with compassion, dissent with understanding. Apparently these most emphasized aspect of Jesus’ mission is lost in the minds of many fundamentalist Christians; and that aspect is unconditional love.

It’s a lamentable fact that many fundamentalists are oblivious to this fact. If they were to heed Jesus’ injunction to love others, despite what their opposition says or how much they might disagree, Christianity would surely win more converts than by using the current tactic of anathematizing everyone who has a differing worldview.

There is a single truth that is hard to swallow for most fundamentalist Christians. That verity is that they are not really Christians. They merely subscribe to a theological construct that brings certainty to a confusing world that frightens them, and that theological formulation is far removed from the gist of Christ’s message. Its this dogged certitude that these men and women have faith in. It is not the word of Jesus that these people truly adhere to, or strive to understand. That is why the promotion of Creationism, the vilification of homosexuals, and the slander of those of differing beliefs take precedence over acts of kindness and charity.

Its sad that fundamentalists have tarnished the name of Christianity, making it synonymous with everything loathsome in the world, when in actuality it is the embodiment of the greatest virtues that everyone should espouse.

Well thats what unbelievers perceive to be true when in most cases the Christian isnt threatening hell but simply giving the warning that the opposing conduct or beliefs are inconsistant with what God has called good. Therefore Christians dont threaten hell as if God were going to send peope to hell upon our request. We only give warnings about hell because we actually dont want peope to go there and neither does God. Do you really expect believers to turn a blind eye when it comes to evil things? The world hates us because we testify what it does is evil.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. -2 Peter 3:9

Remember the villagers who saw the horse with it's tail where it's head aught to be? They were not going to admit they were duped until everyone had been duped, that way, they wouldn't be made to feel like they were gullible by those who hadn't looked for themselves. Atheists are just the nice villagers who went in the stall early, and decided that the hoax wasn't all that funny and wanted to do a community service by announcing the fraud. The believers are the ones who were duped and want to wait until everyone else falls for it before they admit the fraud publicly...

Christianity must be a graspable and tangible faith or it quite is ineffective to every person. faith does us no reliable sitting on a shelf and God can no longer help us if we positioned him in a container to artwork his miracles. If we actually and actually took a glance into the bible we'd see that we are commanded to do 2 issues, Love God and Love Others. we are ALL imperfect, we can ALL cut back to rubble lower back, and luckily all of us have the prospect to get lower back up and pass at existence lower back. We ought to provide up looking previous the log in our very own eye to get rid of the splinter in somebody else's. in simple terms love anybody and be the excellent possible individual you would be, God knows what we are able to!

When has a Christian threatened you and did that sort of stuff? If they have then they are not acting like Jesus taught us to, not like it Is easy to stay that way ALL the time, but just keep in mind, Christians do get a little frustrated when people bash us constantly, wouldn't you?

I'm afraid that is the earmark of all people with distorted egos---of ALL denominations. When we are in front of the Lord who is Truth itself, every one of us will be face down on the floor knowing our own worthlessness and the mercy granted to any of us will leave us silent when the next person appears for judgment.

Yeah, what's up with that? I understand what you're saying. I've asked myself the same kinds of questions. Such attitudes, I think, are not necessarily unique to Christian types, but since Jesus, as they claim, supposedly now lives inside of them you would expect them to be at least maybe slightly less that way than us ordinary heathens.

For the same reason "fundamentalist" jews and muslims do the same. They are extreemist radicals, often with emotional issues of there own. They are not fundamentalists, none of them, as the fundamentals are peace.

Fundamentalist Christians have a high percentage of wife-beatings, also. They are not nice people.
