Is it true, Male Lobsters will help each other get out of pot of boiling water so you need to put a lid on the pot. And females will hold the others in the pot with them from getting out. So you can cook them without a lid

Why would you want to cook a lobster in boiling water without a lid? Are you so sick you want to watch them suffer?
If you dont want them to suffer, soak each lobster in milk while their claws are still wrapped in the bands, for a 1/2 hour. The milk numbs them, they dont feel anything.
PUT A LID on the POT.
It is not true that males try to get out, and females stay in. Thats rediculous, and a old wives tale.

INGREDIENTS
3 gallons water
2 large onions, quartered
10 cloves garlic, peeled and cut in half
2 lemons, quartered
2 oranges, quartered
5 stalks celery, quartered
4 tablespoons black pepper
4 tablespoons seasoned salt
6 fresh jalapeno peppers
2 fresh live lobsters
DIRECTIONS
Pour the water into a large pot and add the onions, garlic, lemons, oranges, celery, black pepper, seasoned salt and jalapeno peppers. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil for 20 minutes.
Add the lobsters and place a lid over the pot. Boil for 15 minutes. Remove the lobsters from the pot, and place in a colander under cool running water to stop the cooking. Serve.

NOPE!!!
Since the pot of water is boiling when you put the lobsters in, they are pretty much dead when they hit the water or very soon after.... I use a lid to keep the water temp at boiling, not to keep from having a mass escape... I think someone was pulling your leg....

I would have to say no. If you're cooking the lobsters correctly they should be dead in seconds when they hit or the hot water hits them.
