With the mess in Iraq at the moment, I think there are only two options.
1. Complete immediate withdrawal, which would be counter-productive.
2. Really get tough over there. Divide the country into three regions. They can re-unite again at a later date by way of a referendum. Warn Iraq's neighbours that they are EXPECTED to co-operate. If they don't, punish them! Who is going to stop the US and Britain? Things will get worse before they get better, but this battle has to be fought sometime, and cannot be lost.
If idiot Bush had walked the walk, and talked the talk, like he has been threatening to do since 9/11, he would be the most popular President in the history of the US.
Even I, a 'tree-hugging, dope-smoking, commie, liberal scum' supported this moron for about a year after 9/11! What a letdown.

Victory in Iraq was declared, a few times now. Now the Dogs of War are scrambling over the scraps that are left. I think we will win it again around election time. There is no succes to be had.
A war on terror is about as stoopid as a war on the tides. Terrorist actions have occured by all nations at some time, is a matter of opnion if it was justified.
There is no winning of a humans spirit.
I read in the Bible about a Terrorist action, so its been around a long time. And if Rebellion is Terrorism, the USA shoukd not have been allowed to remain.
The battle plan is Vietnam Era, bases of troops that expose themselves to danger on a daily basis. Just following orders.

Don't you think it important to honor committment, to continue the fight against islamofascism.
We could send more troops but I do not think the iraqi government want it, not popular right now, so we stay the course and help them establish this fledgling country.
One thing I think would help but it will never happen, break the country up into three pieces which I believe it was at one time, and I think the fighting would stop for awhile, until they started the land grab fight with their new neighbors.

Well the war is over, but to get the hell out of there the Iraqi government needs to get stronger and step up to the plate to defend their own country. Sorry to echo the politicians.

Technically the war is over. We are basically there until the new Iraqi government can take over. As soon as their military is in place we can pull out but in till then we are there protecting the frigile government and preventing a civil war. Support the troops.

You're kidding, right? The USA already lost the war. The stuff going now is civil war, which won't be 'won', except by either the Shias or the Sunnis. Where have you been?

A sharp commander in chief that knows what to do...
I mean, sharp leaders in the past went at the front of the batallions, and finished what they started, wining territory...
But Bush just led us into the 21st Century Vietnam
