It does take time to heal a broken heart. However, time won't heal anything. It's the choices that you make during that time that heal you.

1) Forgive the person who hurt you. The only way to get rid of the pain is to get rid of the anger and sense of betrayal.

If it's not safe or feasible to tell them face to face, then write a letter and mail it. (If it's not safe, just burn the letter after you've written it and pretend that the smoke is your anger.)

2) Forgive yourself for whatever you might have done. Perhaps you played a role in the break-up, perhaps not. Perhaps you feel you were too trusting, not trusting enough, or too gullible, or too busy... What it is, forgive yourself for it.

3) Make a conscious decision to practice trusting people again. You'll know when you feel like pulling back. If you can't think of concrete reason to pull back, then practice trusting.

If only time can tell...Just don't drown yourself with sorrow and think how it would be like if you and him are still together.... Things happened for a reason and just glad it happen sooner than later...Look at this as a life learning lesson...You learned to be a smarter person from this break up, and knowing what to do on your next relationship. This is a time for you to learned about yourself and knowing what you want and don't want out of a relationship. Call your girlfriends and hang out with them. Spend sometime with your family. Take a weekend trip to visit a friend out of state. Don't look for love let love look for you. When the time is right and you're ready to start dating than go for it. Don't start dating someone right away you don't want to fine a rebound.
Everyone's been heart broken before and it's not the end of the world. No doubt it hurts alot but...in a few months you'll look back on it and glad it happened..trust me I've been there and know how you feel.
