He jumped out of an open window the night of July 31st. Since then we have undergone exhaustive search efforts. We have checked with animal control and animal shelters, put up flyers door-to-door in ours and surrounding neighborhoods, searched on foot day and night calling his name, put ads online and check for found cats online and in the newpaper, etc.

He was about a year-and-a-half old. He was not neutered. Is it possible that he found a female to mate with and is staying with her? Or is it likely that somebody has taken him into their home?

I don't want to give up hope of finding him. He was happy at home and we were very close. I miss him so much.

It has been a long while...so might be that you will not find him..but I suppose he could have been adopted by someone else. My sister in law "lost" her cat and 4 months later found out it was being fed and cared for by some of her neighbors. It just so happened that she fed her dry food and the neighbors were feeding her canned food and tuna!! My cat escaped once when a house guest accidentally let him out. We had just moved into this apt. 2 weeks earlier so my cat was totally unfamiliar with the new neighborhood..I went through the whole process, signs, searches, the pound, etc. and found him 3 weeks later only 1/2 block away. Another pet owner saw my signs and called me when he showed up at her place at 3 in the morning fighting off her two huge dogs for food!! So, don't give up all hope! Just consider that he is gone...and if you do find him again it will be a great surprise. Good Luck.

I take it your cat has a "chip"-identification implanted??

Have you tried the local vets, to see if a cat like that was maybe brought in end July or the first week of august??
Maybe a good Samaritan had him treated, and then took him home to recover....if so, the vet should know the name of that person.

Cats HAVE been known to come back to their old homes even after having been away for longer than a few months....BUT, to be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath.
I think the best thing you can do now is hope that your cat found another good home, and is happy where he is.

I'm sorry for you, I know how sad it is to lose a cat. (or any other pet)
Against better judgment I sure hope he comes back to you.

Your cat is likely hanging out around somebody else's house being looked after now. Cats, especially Tom cats are famous for wandering off to find new territory. Keep an eye out, you might see some of his kids around someday. But a year and one half old Tom, gone three months is not likely to be coming home anytime soon.

has anyonne moved since then? find out if that person just happened to collect a cat while they moved. i saw on tv once that something like that happened and they gave up and years later they went to a yard sale and they found their cat. and the people almost didn't want to let him go but they understood and did.
so if anyone moved since then find out where they moved to and find out if they have ur cat.

I know when i did that with my dog it was tiring and hard. Than i just had to accept he was gone and i couldn't do anything about. I cried for 3 nights but after that i was content and happy. Just accepting that he was gone and realizing that there was nothing i could do made it hard to let him go but i did have to let him go. I think it is time for you to let your cat go.

He may come home. Don't give up hope. He may become feral, though. If he does return, be sure to have him neutered. I wish you luck.

it's very possible that he mated with another cat. also quite possible that someone took him in. if you ever find him make sure you get him microchipped.

I wish you good luck.

By now they would have mated and moved on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unless he keep going furthur and furthur looking for more!! Next time have the cat neutered. I would say by now, the chances are slim you will find him.

someone probably took him in because since he was used to being around people he was probably very friendly to someone and they took him in as a pet

you can rather put tons of fliers, and hope hell come back or deal with it, and buy a new one in a month or so.
