hey, just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes for the FULL effect for this drug to kick in, it's been alittle over 2 weeks and ive noticed a few different things, but it still feels like things are still changing back and forth, some days i have a hardcore sex drive, other days i have no interest in it at all, than some days i am super, super happy, some i am sooo miserable, it just seems to be like a roller coaster, but changes are definitaly in progress for the better, just wondering if anyone knows how long for the full effect.thanks in advance

It takes at least a month for any antidepressant medication to fully kicks in. Be patient and keep taking your medication on schedule.

I've been on celexa for almost 2 years and at the beginning I experienced the same effects you have towards the better> It all depends what are the major issues of your depression> But I felt better and consistent with the progress after a month and then the high peaks in mood became soft waves that you can manage: the idea is that you're feeling more your real self as more the medication goes in your system> If you think there is something weird, talk to your doctor and don't stop or change dosage unless he tells how and when> Good luck and feel well!

From what you say, it sounds like bipolar disorder instead of unipolar depression. Antidepressants can make bipolar people's moods cycle out of control. Talk to your doctor about the possibility of an incorrect diagnosis. Bipolar disorder is often diagnosed as depression in the beginning.
