DON'T TRY to stop them. They are only doing what comes naturally. Usually, when cats bite, they only bite once or twice, and not that hard. And if you just take it and remain calm while they do it, then they will stop biting and start licking.

So what you really need to do is train the people that come into contact with that cat. Explain to them that they should just remain calm, and bite will turn into licking.

If they can't do that, I wouldn't let these people touch my cat.

Now, "scratching" is something entirely different. Kittens claws are like very sharp, tiny needles, and they can hurt a LOT.

For that, you just have to keep friends away, if they can't handle it. The cats are ok, it's a people problem. That's how you solve these kinds of "problems"....

Try giving them lots of diffrent types of toys to bite in stead of people.

When they bite or scratch, say No in a stern voice and put them on the floor and don't play with them for a while.

They well learn that biting and scratching means they get no loving.

Keep a few pages of a rolled up newspaper handy. When your kitten bites someone, give a sharp whistle, then swat the kitten. The whistle will alert the kitten of imminent discipline...the rolled up newspaper rustles and doesn't hurt. Worked for me.

The best thing I have found over the years to teach cats with is a squirt bottle with water in it. When the cat does something wrong give it a squirt with the water. It doesnt hurt them but it sure gets their attention and after you do it a few times they know not to do that behaviour again. Works for climbing up curtains, jumping onto kitchen tables and benches, scratching furniture...so I am sure it would work for this too. Dont drown them just a quick squirt works fine.

if your kittens are biting because you are doing something they don't like, stop it. if they bite while playing, that is very normal. kittens play with each other, and it seems like 'fighting'. this is part of nature teaching them how to hunt when they grow up.
at this stage they are very playful, and you should give them toys and play with them. biting is normal and should wear off as they grow older

You should encourage that type of behavior, not discourage it. Cats biting people is a good thing. Some people enjoy it.

Tell them "no" firmly just like you would a dog, they understand it if told consistently, or spray them with a water bottle.
