I have told my daughter continuously that she must wipe front to back and BETTER when she goes #2. But I am still finding stains on her underwear when I do the laundry. Stains so bad it looks like they are the stains that should be on the toilet paper. She has gotten rashes before, however nothing so severe. But I am concerned for her health. She doesn't complain of any pain, but I want to give her a reason that she will remember. Is that possible at her age or do I just have to remind her every day until it becomes habit? Help..thank you.

remind her every day and they do have wipes that kids can use to cleanse themselves....
you can also tell if she does not clean herself that you will do it for her and that might shock her and start doing it right

The next time you go #2 allow your daughter to see you do it. Telling her is one thing but most children are visual and need to see how it is done. Second go to wal-mart, dollar store, k-mart where ever and get some wipes, tell her when she goes #2 that first she should wipe with toilet paper and then with the wipe to make sure it all off. Sometimes toilet paper alone won't do the trick. Also, my daughter is 9 and I know it may seem mean to you but when she was around that age I had the same problems, they are in a rush and don't take the time to do it right. So I started making my daughter wash her underwear on her hands. I told her that is she didn't want to take the proper steps to clean her self after using the bathroom that she would have to then clean up the mess that it caused and after the third night of that I had no more problems and she still uses wipes today.

Explain to her that if you don't wipe the right way then you could get a bad infection down there. Tell her poop is very germy and it's not something you want to have on your butt or in your underwear.

Maybe she's confused as to how to do it even though you've explained it. Get a baby doll and some toilet paper and show her which way to wipe by wiping the doll's butt. Tell her when she is wiping her own butt that she should wipe until no more stuff shows up on the toilet paper.

Yes, like people have mentioned here - flushable moist wipes are better for those tiny hands than toilet paper.

what I do with my kids is tell them to use atleast 4-5 sheets to make sure they are clean - it maybe on the higher side, but atleast I know that they will not get rashes or feel discomfort.

One thing helps - if you apply vaseline petroleum jelly around that area just after she has her shower/ bath, it is easy to clean up after #2.

I had problems with my son not wiping well when he was that age, I bought him those children's fluhsable wipes that are like baby wipes and it really helped him to clean better. In a year or so he stopped using them and all has been well since. I also had to "remind" him to wash his hands with soap on occasion as he would forget...this is important too.

Most woman dont wipe front to back when they go pee so another why to do that is pat it dry with tolit paper works the same.

When she goes and does number to remind her to wipe from the bottom up.

You have to keep reminding her until she gets in the habit, and or you can try giving her a talk telling her that it is not clean if she doesnt do it right and she could get sick or something

the way my daughter was taught was to wrap the toilet paper around her hand and then start from the back and wipe up. the technique is especially good so they dont end up with their business on their hands!

I guess you have to go to the bathroom with her for as long as is necessary until she did it right. Try to give her a lot of praises everytime when she did it correctly. Don't say anything negative. Explain to her the reason for doing that. Award her a cookie, a piece of potato chip. Be patient and don't get angry.

maybe give her a box of baby wipes to use instead of toilet paper? makes it easier to clean herself.
I dont think its really her fault that you can give her a reason to do it, maybe she cant do it properly on her own?

Talk to her about it in a nice way tell her that you know you can trust her to do it. And when she does tell her how proud you are of her.
