I would never ever think of letting a bird outside even with clipped wings they can get the air to pick them up and they'll be gone. It is their instict to fly and being outside alone after being in a home he wouldn't make it long without being attacked by another animal or he would starve to death. Also if you take him outside with you he may very well fly off if he's startled. It's a known fact that vultures and hawks will pick that baby up in a second whether it's on your shoulder or not. The chances of your baby coming back if it does fly away is very slim.

Be careful outside I have heard from my local pet shop where i purchased a Senegal Parrot that they knew someone who had a Sun Conure who just started to talk went outside with him a Hawk flew down and stole his bird right off his shoulder. I would think if he did fly away he may come back knowing where his food is but could become disoriented and not know where he goes. They do make flight suits with strings attached so he wont fly to far. www.drsfostersmith.com

Please trim your pet's wings. He might fly off and try to come back and get hurt or killed in the process. If that happens it will be no one's fault but yours. If you don't know how to trim the wings check with your vet or knowledgeable bird owner in your area. They will be glad to help.
