To get your bra size you...
Measure around your rib cage, underneath your breasts, where the band of your bra sits. Make sure to pull the tape snug and keep it flat against your back. Add 5 to this number (if you end up with an odd number, round up to the closest even number). This number is your bra size. Example: 29 inches +5 = size 34.

Measure around the fullest part of your breast, again keeping the tape snug, but not tight, and parallel to the rib-cage line. If this measurement is an odd number, round up to the next even number. Example: 37 inches rounds up to 38.

To determine your cup size, subtract the first measurement from the second.

Example: 38 minus 34 = 4:
1-inch difference = A cup;
2-inch difference= B cup;
3-inch difference = C cup;
4-inch difference= D cup,
5-inch difference = DD cup.
6-inch difference = F cup.
7-inch difference = G cup.
8-inch difference = H cup.

So the examples result in a bra size of 34D, so this would be a good starting point to try to find the right bra for you.

The number 32-34 or what ever is the measuremenr around the ribs below the breasts.
The cup size in inches is calculated by measuring around the back and the fullest part of the breasts

you then take five from this figure.

So say below the breasts is 32 and around the breasts is 37.

Then you take 5 from the bigger measurement so you get 32.

If the two figures are equal below and above breasts you are a b cup i think if it is one inch more it is a c cup and two inches more is d cup.

But generally nowadays you judge the cup size by looking at the fit not measuring.

Also some people are between sizes say between 32 c and 34

Also lots of women have different size boobs - some are top heavy and some aren't and need different sorts of bras.

Size order (generally) goes

a
b
c
d
dd
e
f
ff - sometimes
g
h
and i have seen up to m

Measure around your rib cage, underneath your breasts, where the band of your bra sits and add 5 inches

Then Measure around the fullest part of your breast around the nipple area
Make sure numbers if odd are rounded up to even.

subtract the first measurement from the second. to find the cup size

1-inch difference = A cup;
2-inch difference= B cup;
3-inch difference = C cup;
4-inch difference= D cup,
5-inch difference = DD cup.
6-inch difference = F cup.
7-inch difference = G cup.
8-inch difference = H cup.

However about 6 years ago I was measured at M&S as a 34E and have been wearing that size without problems but when I a measured I am a 38C and it is too Small.

so cup wise AA is the smaller and the sizes go up alphabetically

The number is the number of inches around the bust.

The letter is the cup size, which depends on the actual size of the breasts. The sizes go up with the letters, starting at A. It's worked out by measuring around the breasts and finding the difference between that measurement and the bust measurement.

So you can't really put them in an exact size order, as a skinny girl could have large breasts and be 34C, a girl with a larger chest could have flatter breasts and be 36B.

well im taking it your a man? lol!

the numbers mean back size and the letters mean cup size.

So 30 to 38 means back size. You only get even numbers tho! Never get 33 or 35 or 37.

Cup sizes go from small at A and large at D. Double letters mean a bit bigger than the single letter. So DD means a bit bigget than D.

By the sounds of it you need to get a girlfriend to show you!!!!!

1. Your Bra/Band size
Your band size is a number, which represents your body or diaphragm size - such as 30,32,34,36,38,40, etc. It’s known as the 'underbust measurement' because it is taken from under your bust and shoulder blades, around your rib cage. 2. Your Cup size
Your cup size is a letter, which represents the size of your bust - such as A, B, C, D. It's known as the ‘overbust measurement’ because it is taken around the fullest part of your bust..
Getting a Proper Chestband / Underbust Size
Cup size can not be properly obtained if the chestband is not the correct size. So the first step you need ot take is getting the proper chestband size. A properly fitted chestband will allow your bra to provide proper support to your bust while taking the load away from the shoulder straps which are intended to adjust the height of your bosom, not carry it. To get your chestband measurement:
Take a snug measurement around your rib cage, under your bust and shoulder blades.
Add 5 inches. Example: 30" + 5" = 35"
If you get an even number, this is your Band Size.
If you get an odd number (like 35), round up one (to 36) to get your Band Size.
Example: 30" + 5" = 35" + 1" = 36"
Getting a Proper Cup / Overbust Size
Now that you have your band size you can go on to figure out the right size bra to buy. The next step is to determine what your cup size is and this is pretty easy to do. You can do this by yourself, but it definitely helps if you have someone who can assist you with the measurements. To get your proper bra cup measurement:
With bra on and clothes off, place the measuring tape under your arms and over the fullest part of your bust.
Next you need to do a little math to get your proper cup size.
Subtract your underbust meas. (Step 1) from your Overbust Meas. (Step 2).
Example: 39" overbust measurement - 36" underbust measurement = 3"
3" = C cup
You can use the chart below to
determine the proper cup size
based on your measurements. Difference: Cup Size:
0" - 1/2" AA
1/2" - 1" A
1" - 2 1/2" B
2 1/2" - 3 1/2" C
3 1/2" - 4 1/2" D
4 1/2" - 6" DD & E
6" DDD & F
7" G
8" H
9" I
10" J

It starts at 28 A, 28 being the width of your back around to your boobs. And A being the cup size of your boobs. Can go all the way up to GG. (That would be pretty big) Put it this way Keira Knightly would be a 28A and Jordan would be about a 32 E.

OK - for example a bra size may be 34B. the first bit equals the size of the woman's back (the number). this is taken around the back and over the front of the breast (over the nipples) and is measured in inches. the next bit is the cup size (the actual breast size) it starts with A as the smallest and goes right through to... umm... HH probably (available from specialist shops)

The number 32, 34, 36 etc. is the back size. The letter A, B, C, etc. is the actual size of the breast or cup size.
