"America" is a continent. The arrogant attitude of the government of the U.S.A. only causes resentments. The government of Bush lives to cause confrontations in the world? I think yes that.

AMERICA is South America, Central America and North America. All of their countries.

USA is NOT America.

USA is United States of America, only a country.

If US people wants to be called "Americans", they needs to learn spanish, the main language of America.

Simplemente decile "EEUU", como lo hago yo y no permitamos que se sientan dueños de toda América!

TODOS SOMOS "AMERICANOS"
NO LO OLVIDEMOS!!!

You have to say simply: "United States", as I do; we can't allow themselves feel that they are the owners of all America!

WE ARE ALL "AMERICANS"!
WE DON'T HAVE TO FORGET IT!!!

I think democracy in Iran is important to both the U.S. & Iran - but more so in Iran. The Iranian people need and deserve more freedoms than what they've had. For 30 years, the Iranians have had their freedoms and their country limited/restricted by some those in charge. You can't dance in the streets, because it's against the law. You can't convert to another religion if you're Muslim, because it's against the law. Women have to cover their hair with hejabs, because if they don't - it's against the law...These are *simple*, *basic* rights that these people should have - but don't! I think the Iranians need to free themselves from these and other repressions - so that their country and their people can progress! I also think that Iran is getting more attention on the international front - like someone else here mentioned - due to certain issues that have been present there. (The "nuclear issue" has been a *HUGE* spotlight and attention-grabber obviously - but I also think that what "Ahmedi" has said has also raised a number of eyebrows!) I, personally, would *LOVE* to see positive and successful relations for our two countries! (After all, it's a been a loooong 30 years since we've officially been friends!) And honestly - I personally could not care about the oil! (We all need to move away from oil, I think - and become more eco-friendly/fuel efficient/alternative fuel for the sake of our earth/environment...Besides, oil usually causes too many problems anyways - why do we all need to keep fighting wars in the name of oil?!...It just does not make any sense!) I know that this is ultimately going to have to be a battle that the Iranian people will have to fight and win - but I feel horrible and sickened by the fact that the common civilian is not even allowed to carry anything to defend themselves with, especially when they come under the attack of the Revolutionary Guard and/or basij!!! (I have seen far too many videos of the police/basij beating innocent civilians - women and the elderly - for absolutely no reason whatsoever! Obviously, there is a serious misuse/abuse of power! I feel so bad for these poor people - they don't deserve to beaten like that! They are not dogs - they are human beings and deserve to be treated as such!) I wish there is something America could do to help the people of Iran! All we can do is support you, though - which, a lot of us have already been doing! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! May Mousavi and the Iranian people triumph! America supports the Iranian people and their rights to freedoms!

You have serious mental problems don't you.... first off.. we are Americans because that it what we are called... Mexico does not call it's people Americans, Canada does not call it's people Americans...We are the only Americans so that was a very compelling argument you gave there.. really.. makes me want to go learn Spanish.. now back to the whole language thing.. what language do you think they are teaching kids in Germany, and other countries like that ENGLISH - because English is becoming the international language.. but thanks for the Geography lesson.. appreciate it.. never knew there were other continents ... had no idea that we shared North America with Canada either.. guess our Schools here in AMERICA.. didn't teach us anything did they..

Now that you have had your moment in time to unload all your objections, what is you question?

Do you object that the United States is being called America? If that's the case why are you not objecting that Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, etc....... are not calling themselves "America"?

What do you really object to, spell it out, say it, we are all friends here, maybe we can help you overcome your discomfort.

Of all the countries on the two American continents, the United States of America is the only one with the word "America" in it's name, so the name America is appropriate and NOT just a trick of the current administration. It has been used by every administration and by most America's to describe this country and it's inhabitants.

Listen up, "sir": if you are not already in the United States of America, please, do yourself, and us, a favor, and stay where you are. If you ARE already here, thank your lucky stars, sit down, and shut up. Read a book. Watch CNN. Do something constructive.

There are too many real, important issues and things that need to be addressed without making a ridiculously useless and ignorant statement such as yours. If you want to complain about the current administration, then get out there and vote your conscience.

That is, assuming you are a legal citizen.

Where are your complaints about the far more dangerous arrogance of other world leaders, like Looney Tunes Chavez, or the poster child for delusional omnipotence, Kim Jong-il?

An old slogan comes to mind - "America - love it or leave it".

Lol learn English first there boy and then you can start to ask your stupid questions. We're the United States of America because we are the states that united on the continent of America. Let me turn it around on you. Why do they call it Latin America? Not all of America is Latino, you arrogant man you. We call it what we want. If you dont like it, start a war. Who ever wins gets to keep their name. I'm pretty sure they'll still call us the USA, and afterwards, so will you...

Oh yeah and we dont put ¿ before our questions.

There are actually only around 290 million spanish speakers in the Americas. (Brazil is Portuguese) The US has a population of 300 Million, add Canada and they are approximately even.

Yes, they are arrogant. Stay away from them. Imagine calling themselves the United States of America. I wouldn't set foot in that country if I were you.
