I used to live in Hawaii and I would definitely recommend the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa for a romantic yet fun honeymoon.

Wow, you are going to have a honeymoon in hawaii, how unique. anyhow, turtle bay is a properly-cherished place, so it could tend to be extremely busy for the period of the 365 days, notably the intense season. Why not attempt Kauai? it extremely is way less crowded than Oahu. The roads are much less congested, and there are various seashores and motels to make a call from. I stay here in Kauai, and that i'm able to declare it extremely is extremely wonderful.

I've been to Maui twice and both times were great. There are some rather nice hotels on the western side of the island. And it's not as touristy or developed as some of the other islands.

If you can afford it stay at the Renissance hotel in Wailea, Maui. It runs about $400 a night but you will feel like you've just stepped into the garden of eden.

maui is known to be a favorite honeymoon destination and it rarely rains here in kihei and lahaina. if you plan on coming here and you could afford it, the "grande wailea hotel"($$$) is killer. though they're pricey averaging over $300/night, they're known to have the third best landscaping in the world and the best pool area w/1acre. you'd be next to "shops at wailea"($$$) where they have all the brand name shops so you could ask your husband to buy you a nice bag there:) about 5 min. away, makena beach has over a mile of soft white sand and is called big beach, but i wouldn't recomend swiming there because the waves are pretty strong. all the locals go there to body board and get a tan, but make sure you don't leave any valuables in the car! right over the little rocky area to the right of big beach is little beach and that's where the nude beach is in case you want to get rid of your bikini line:p sunday's the best day to go there if you want a crowd, i hear they even have people playing drums or some music. you could have some sushi at "isana's"($$) where all the locals go to eat fresh fish and korean food in south kihei about 15-20mins. away from where you're staying. you'd be right across the beach and could see the sunset from their windows that surround the restaurant. they got a lot of windsurfer's and kite boarder's across there too. all the ocean activities are around there and molokini island is the best place to snorkel. lahaina has a lot of attractions like "ulalena"($$), the performance show of hawaii's heritage which is rated #1 in hawaii, about $75/person? "old lahaina luau"($$) is the best luau, also the most expensive, but their buffet line is ono(delicious) w/a wide variety and their performer's are said to be the best. i think that also runs about $75/person? front street has a lot of great restaurants and shops, but it's very expensive there to shop. they're also known to be the 3rd best art venue in the world and have a "friday night is art night" where they have wine and cheese served at select art galleries. have some cocktails and enjoy the live hawaiian bands while you listen to the ocean sounds. "kimo's steak house"($$) would be a nice place. you'd be better off at the "wharf cinema shop. ctr."($-$$)for gifts and stop by my mom's shop called "island novelty" and buy a handmade candle please:) they are the only ones in the island besides my shop in kihei that has those carved disney candles. i tried the submarine tour($$) and that was a lot of fun! that's about $80/person. golfing would be in kapalua($$) where oprah winfrey, michael jordan, willie nelson and mike tyson owns homes. stop by "swan court"($$$) for a romantic dinner in the hyatt hotel. they are rated #1. wake up early for the "haleakala mountain" downhill biking. the 2nd highest elevated mountain in hawaii, but remember to bring a jacket! in "wailuku", check out "tasty crust"($) for cheap and filling breakfast. they've been around long and the locals all eat there, that's near the airport where you arrived. "iao valley" is another beautiful place to go. they have a lot of nice mountains and nursery's. take a tour to "hana", but be sure to bring snacks because after a certain point, there's no shops or restaurants! they have the "7 sacred pools" known for the most beautiful waterfalls and moutain views. bring your bikini so you could swim there and plan ahead by checking the weather online before you go because it rains there sometimes and they close the pools due to flooding from the mountain waterfalls. it'll take about 2 1/2 hrs. to drive there so go early. on the way to hana there's a town called "paia"(hippie town) where they left it to look like the old hawaiian days. if you like lavendar, "kula ali'i lavendar farm" has a mountainful of different lavener plants and flowers. you could buy all kinds of lavender products from their little shop and drink lavender coffee or tea while gazing across the beautiful island of maui. you could see the whole lahaina, kihei, and kahului areas. august is peak season so you'd want to make sure you plan well in advance to make sure you have a flight and room to stay as they are known to be booked to the max during summer. congratulations and hope you enjoy your stay if you take my recommendations!
