Forgiveness is something you do for YOU. You are best to find a way to forgive someone who has hurt you, because if you don't you will surely carry resentments that will eat you on the inside. It doesn't mean you have to like them or be friends. Forgiveness is just a way of letting go of that person and resentments so they will not be a negative thing you carry yourself through life. That will in turn set you free. :)

my son died last month from abuse that he suffered in jail he was paralyzed from the neck down on a respirator and the complications mounted he should not have gotten into trouble i dont condone what he did that was wrong but he did not deserve to die he had some mental problems he told us who hurt him before he died and if that person is prosecuted i will have to request to the judge that he not be given any sentence that would involve the death penalty what he did to my son was horrible and we loved him very much but this person also has a family that loves him and they dont deserve to go through the heartache that we just went through we must forgive people otherwise we are as guilty as them i believe he deserves to be punished just as i believe my son deserved to be punished but there is a right way and a wrong way and we have to look at both sides of the fence the person that hurt my son was a law officer and that is hard to deal with but i am sure that it will also be hard for his family to deal also life is very complicated sometimes and carrying the anger and hate will only eat your own life up i guess i feel sorry for this person because i would not want to be such a cruel person and how could you be normal and hurt other people that way hope you are able to cope and can be happy in your life

If youre a christian there are many ways. Sin is in the world and we are slaves to it. That doesnt make killing right but it has an excuse for it. They may just be sick mentally. Pray for the strength to forgive them Id say.

yes,it is possible to forgive. Though it may be the hardest thing you may have ever had to deal with in your life. God is a forgiving spirit. If you believe in this, then ask for guidance. With your tough journey ahead you can not do it alone.

I have still not forgiven the man who killed my boyfriend's son on my birthday in 1982. It was a drunk driver, out free after approx 20 dui's...after he hit Mike (the son)...he got out of his car and tried to clean the blood off his windshield, then attempted to leave the scene (with the Harley still stuck in his radiator). He got a 90 DAY SUSPENDED SENTENCE. If you want to kill someone legally, go to Minnesota! (They didn't jail the high school coach who killed TWO young women, one of whom he'd been having an affair with...in fact, the school had to BUY HIS CONTRACT to keep him from continuing to teach/coach at that school.)
