My grandfather moved from England in the 60's, and my mother (a US citizen) had me in 1981 in New Orleans, so I am a US citizen. I heard somewhere if you grandparents are from another country, and your mother had you when she was not married you can automatically have citizenship to that country. Is this true?

If your father or your father's father was born in the UK you can claim it.
