my auto mechanics have tried draining and replacing the petrol, checked the plugs and so on, but the light stays on, and the jerking continues. What is the likely cause and likely solution to this problem, as it has left all of us confused.

you may need to have your ecm reflashed..go to your nearest dealer and they can diag the vehicle....sometimes touaregs can get very difficult to diag..i'm betting on the ecm being reflashed..

There is an update to the software that will correct hesitation. You must go to a VW dealer for this.

I saw the same thing happen on a volkswagon beetle. They never could figure it out. Sold the car.

Faulty O2 sensor. Or catalytic converter is clogged. Have them check both. I would not suspect the catalytic converter (B/C its too new) but heck anything is possible.

its a VW get use to having more problems with it
