Tomorrow i have to get a suppository (medical procedure..2 of them!!) for the first time and i'm 15.. I hear it's where they push a pill up your butt but that's all i know. does it hurt a lot? do i have to take off my clothes?

i'm embarassed about it a lot. do i have to stand up or what do i do? what if i make my cheeks tight together or try to so they cant put it in? what if they put it in and i push it out?

does it make me go to the bathroom the same way or diffferent and longer?

it's okay to be embarrassed....U will probably be wearing a gown since u stated u are having a procedure done....u will probably lie on your side almost sort of in the fetal position...the nurse will u a lubricant and insert the pill with her pointy and middle finger into your rectum..this will take less than 10-15 seconds...it will be alittle uncomfortable but it shouldn't hurt...u will be fine....

It will be OK. You will need to take your pants off, or down, and either bend over or lay on a table. Suppositories are usually pretty small (like 1/2 the size of your pinkie), so you should not feel any discomfort from it.

Don't worry about being embarassed or knowing what to do at the doctor's office. The doctor is very used to doing this, and knows that people are embarassed about it, so your doctor will know how to handle the whole situation.

I'm sorry you have to go through this! Yes, it's embarassing, but you'll get through it. You'll have experienced people around you who will explain everything to you. Don't be afraid to ask questions! They will probably have you lie down on your side (yes, take your britches off, but you'll probably have a cover of some sort) and gently insert the capsule into your rectum, and depending on what's going on, it will eventually come out all by its self. Is sounds like it might just be a laxitive to help you go to the bathroom. Good luck! You'll be fine.

Don't worry hun, you'll be fine its uncomfortable but you do need to try and relax, they may ask you to lie down on your left side with your knees up. But they should explain to you before they do anything. The suppositories dissolve slowly and yes you do go to the toilet normally. Hope this helps please don't worry Lizzy x
