Verse 16. What agreement hath the temple of God with idols - If God would not endure idols in any part of the land wherein he dwelt, how much less, under his own roof! He does not say, with the temple of idols, for idols do not dwell in their worshippers. As God hath said - To his ancient church, and in them to all the Israel of God. I will dwell in them, and walk in them - The former signifying his perpetual presence; the latter, his operation. And I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people - The sum of the whole gospel covenant. Lev. xxvi, 11, &c.
Verse 17. Touch not the unclean person - Keep at the utmost distance from him. And I will receive you - Into my house and family. Isaiah lii, 11; Zephaniah iii, 19, 20.
Verse 18. And ye shall be to me for sons and for daughters, saith the Lord Almighty - The promise made to Solomon, 1Chr xxviii, 6, is here applied to all believers; as the promise made particularly to Josh. is applied to them, Heb. xiii, 5. Who can express the worth, who can conceive the dignity, of this divine adoption? Yet it belongs to all who believe the gospel, who have faith in Christ. They have access to the Almighty; such free and welcome access, as a beloved child to an indulgent father. To him they may fly for aid in every difficulty, and from him obtain a supply in all their wants. Isaiah xliii, 6.

The first scripture means walk away from theways and life of the non beleiver who is uncleaned, because they do not repent of their sins. You are to separate yourselves from the non believers when you start your life after you have been born again.
The second verse is talking about salvation, thorugh accepting Jesus as your savior.
There is a difference between witnessing to a non believer ,and actually hangning around them in a social manner. Because when you do that, as a Christian, God will say this to you...
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Actually did you really expect a response from a dead person ? remember that the Christian congregation was in among people with many bad habits , traits unclean immoral habbits and he didnt want his people to adopt any of their bad ways but to stay separate from their practices and customs as befits holy clean people and their were laws about clean and un clean both literally and more important spiritually Gorbalizer

it means to be separate from the world (the perishing, unbelievers, etc.,). being separate however doesn't mean keeping a distance from sinners it means being close to GOD see 2cor7:1-2. we can not separate ourselves totally from sin or sinful influences but we can resist it with out giving up or giving into the sin. by doing that we will be a light unto the world, see also Philippians 2:15

Even as Abraham the Father of all believers was called out from his home land to a new land (by faith looking beyond the physical to the city of God) God still calls His people out. Not to move to the top of a pole but to holiness.

By the time Jesus appeared in Israel, the majority of the Jews were practicing various forms of Judaism, a form of religion that had adopted many Babylonish religious concepts. It had attached itself to False Religion. Christ condemned it and delivered his disciples from Babylonish captivity. (Luke 4:18) Since false religion and Greek philosophy were rampant in the areas where he preached, the apostle Paul quoted Isaiah’s prophecy and applied it to Christians, who needed to keep free from the unclean influence of Babylon the Great "which is false religion." He wrote: “What agreement does God’s temple have with (Babylonish) idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: ‘I shall reside among them and walk among them, and I shall be their God, and they will be my people.’ "Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves,” says God, “and quit touching the unclean thing" and I will take you in.”’
The Corinthian Christians did not have to leave Corinth in order to obey that command. They did, however, physically have to avoid the unclean temples of false religion, as well as spiritually separate themselves from the unclean acts of those idol worshipers.
At 2 Corinthians 6:18 Paul quotes from the Hebrew Scriptures in urging Christians to avoid false worship and the use of lifeless, powerless idols, thus qualifying as children of “the Almighty.

This means that we should leave and walk away from the wicked people who sin and will not change. Then when we walk the straight and narrow, God will recieve us . Or get the un-clean, evil spirit out from us. Get away from evil people who will not change. We should not chum with the sinful ones.
Is this the answer you seek ??

Well, I'm almost dead, so I guess I still qualify.....haha..just a joke. What it means to me is that we, as Christians, should keep believers close to us and not to be in places or around people that will tempt us to do wrong. The next verse means we are children of God. Bless you!

Are you expecting answers from the Great Beyond? I don't know about you, but I don't know of any corpses, ghosts or spirits who are on line! Although the way things are going, I expect to see a news story any day now about someone who has requested to be buried with their computer!
