Some people has really strong feelings on Animals and often think there more important than humans.

When I asked a question about why my cat would not stop crying I got called a bad owner and told not to let her out as I was an uncaring cruel owner and blah blah blah.

Prince she continued to cry for 2hours or so and it turnrd out that she had seen a moth in the hall and wanted to get it.

There are some people who are cruel to animals like there is child abuse and whatever we do to stop this is never enough however I am a good owner and I am sure you are.

My Grandma Bread her dog for one year and Kept one of the pups so if Sally who was and adult dog got sick or passed away she would have another part of Sally still about and she knew that once Sally was gone my Grandpa would not want another dog. Sadly Sally got sick and was put to sleep but Toby is now 8 and going strong thats Sallys son

I just humour these individuals as i know I am doing no wrong.

Dane Lover Knows about Dogs from the sound of it so i would really research and speak with other owners of the same kind of dog before you get into the breading.

Take care Sarah

Breeding is a BIG responsability. The dogs MUST be of good quality, jave passed health testing (not just simple vet exams), Temperament testing, have impeccable pedigrees and be good representatives of their breed.
If you truely love your dog I advise you not to breed her...You stand a good chance of complications (especially if she is a toy/small breed), you stand a high risk of her getting mastitis and other infections, you can lose all of the pups as well as the mom. Also the longer your dog stays intact the higher her risk goes for mammary cancer and pyrometria.
There is a lot to know about breeding..it isn't as simple as just throwing a male & female together and Voila..puppies..you need to know what to do if there are problems breeding, you need to know what to look for if there are problems during pregnancy or whelping, what to do if there are problems with the pups, etc..you need to know when to seek experienced help and how to help until you can get the appropriate help. You may need to revive pups, feed pups around the clock 24/7 for at the very least for 2 weeks.
You say you aren't breeding for the money?? but why are you breeding? what does she have to offer back to the breed by way of improvement?

I don't know why you are telling us this, but I'm going to give you advise simply because I feel very strongly about breeding animals . . . DON'T!!!!

There is a huge overpopulation problem in this country and it is blatantly irresponsible to be contributing to it. I highly suggest you reconsider breeding Mitzie. I don't understand how anyone who loves animals (maybe you don't) would be so cruel as to perpetuate a culture of disregard for the life of homeless pets.

oh great. I lost my beloved border collie boy in February this year from a brain haemmorhage. I am looking for another one. Since you are not breeding for the money, can I please put my name down for a male pup from you?
But before I do, what are your bitches hip scores and is she PRA tested clear please as these are both vital to know before breeding border collies, but I'm sure you knew that and had the tests done haven't you.
Looking forward to my new baby collie :0)

you need to be absolutely sure they will all have good homes and to be sure the people will take the puppies . and not change their minds. and also there are too many puppies now that don't have homes . these people should go to an animal shelter and adopt puppies. and sometimes breeding is not good unless you know the male is in good health as not to pass something on to the puppies. then the people who adopt the puppies wont need to bring them back because of sickness .. and cause you problems..
