Well, that is a very broad question. You didn't specify a city. I am from Los Angeles, but I would have to say that my absolute favorite restaurant in the world is Peter Luger in New York City (actually, they have locations in Brooklyn and Long Island, but you get the idea.) Their porterhouse steak is to die for, and so is their bread (yum!) and creamed spinach. It makes my mouth water thinking about it.
