Just an excerpt:

"My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels."

"Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions, and became an immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive."

Michael Hart has done justice when he placed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) No. 1 in his book The 100. The Prophet Muhammad was the last Prophet sent by God for the whole mankind, not only to Muslims. He was not the author of the Holy Qur an as stated by Hart. The Qur anic verses were revealed to him during a span of 23 years. He was illiterate and it was impossible for him to author such as a Great Book, which has influenced millions around the world to convert to Islam.

Because Islamic Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the greatest prophet ever.
When he grew up he earned a great reputation for his honesty and integrity. He always fulfilled his promises. Because he was extremely trustworthy, he became known as Al-Amin.
The Prophet of Islam did not hold any debates nor did he challenge anyone to controversies and discussions. He silently converted people to his faith through his strong personality, charming demeanor and force of divine virtues. He bore with patience the persecution of his tormentors. His characteristics as well as the power of the verses of the Quran captivated the hearts of people.

I hope the other things he says are in the good way. Prophet Muhammad was very charismathic person, no wonder he was chosen.

Lets not forget prophet Jesus, who was just as charismathic as Muhammad.
