I really sympathize with you as the loss of a close family member is very distressing & heart-breaking.
The bible is very clear about the condition of the dead:-
The dead are unconscious with no thoughts or feelings
ECCLESIASTES 9:5 & 10 & PSALM 146:4
That is not to say that there isn't a wonderful hope for the dead.
The wonderful hope for the dead is a future resurrection onto the earth. The bible is very clear about that -
JOHN 5:28,29 & PSALM 37:29
Lazarus had been dead for parts of four days but didn't say anything about being anywhere else when Jesus raised him
JOHN chapter 11
(verse 24 shows that his sister believed in a future earthly resurrection)
To say that a person or personality survives in some way after death is an extention of the lie that Satan first told Eve
(GENESIS 3:4) He said that she wouldn't die but she did.
Beliefs should ALWAYS be backed up with Scripture
The only hope for our loved ones that have died is a resurrection in the future onto the earth.
It doesn't make sense that God would allow our dead loved ones to watch over us as we suffer trials etc without being able to do something to help us (how frustrating would that be?)
What we need to do is take in accurate knowledge now so that we will have the chance of being there to welcome back our dead loved ones onto a paradise earth as God originally intended it. I believe that time to be very soon.
If you want any more info or just want to know where anything else is in the scriptures, please email me - I'd be happy to point them out for you.
Please check the scriptures : )

I lost my mother last yr. As a matter of fact she will be gone
one year on Oct.22. of this year. Even though I can't see her I feel her presence. She was always there for me when I was feeling
down. She would call me on the phone and just hearing my voice she automatically knew when something was wrong. Since she's been gone, When I am down I somehow know she is there(maybe a mind thing)? and I start to feel better. I do believe love ones stay with you in spirit. what amazes me about People who don't believe in God. A spirtual being, not a human being, is that these same people who dubbed religion are the same people when in a crisises, call on the very thing they don't believe in.
I at one time lost my faith but when my mom was ill, she died from Lung Cancer, I lost my wallet with everything in it. all my identification, a little money, that didn't matter. But everything was in this wallet. I asked God that if he returned my wallet that i would never doubt his faith again. The very next morning the first call I got was from a lady that found my wallet and returned it to me with everything in tact and she would not accept a reward for finding it. I am talking the very next morning. Now if that is a
coindence, I am baffled, I will never doubt God again. Miracles may not be things you can see right off hand but they do exist and I am living proof.

Your parents have departed this earth. What you are feeling is your love for your father. this is normal with everyone who has had great affection for someone who has passed on. If this is a comfort to you, then do not worry about it. I have been through the loss of a parent---my father died when i was very young, eight years old. That has been more than 47 years ago. Sometimes he appears in my dreams. i do not attach any spiritual significance to this. i really do not know why it happens. I do not think that psychologist know either, so I would not go running to one to find out about your feelings. My experience with them is that dreams are as much a mystery to them as they are to everyone else.

Sorry about your Loss.
Most of the Time, the Enemy of Human Beings tries to Trick us with this thing.
GOD forbids US to Contact them THE WRONG WAY. GOD might just Let you Contact them Through the Holy Spirit.
I haven't Read anything much about Them Contacting us but I know that some would Want to, if Not all.
BUT, GOD is Mercyfull and HE can let them Contact You in Ways that Only HE Knows.
It's Tricky.
Be Careful.
If what you are Experiencing Builds you UP and Dosent' try to get you into the Wrong Things (wiji board, seance's, psychic's etc) it is Probably GOD doing it.

Do they stay with you?
Not neccessarily with you all the time, but around.
My father's side of the family were all spiritualists, regular seances, etc.
My parents died within 6 months of each other, yet I know they are OK. How? Smells, (mother's perfume in the bedroom 3am), dreams, sounds.
I know it may sound potty, and difficult to explain in today's fact driven world, but they are there.
If you feel your dad with you, then he probably is. Don't worry about it - he'll come and go. You may feel his presence particularly when you are upset or stressed - he'll know that, and is there to comfort you.
Don't dwell on his loss, because I'm sure he would'n want you to. Get on with your life, because you'll meet him again soon enough.

I am so sorry you are feeling the lost of your parents. I believe that as spirits they move to do important work in the afterlife, but they can certainly be there for you to comfort you in times of need and I firmly believe that you can feel the presence of a person past. As time goes on the need to feel this will lessen, but until then they will be there if you need them.

Ecc.12:6 Or ever the silver twine be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken on the fountain, or the wheel broken on the cistern. Ecc.12:7 Then shall the dirt return to the earth because it become: and the spirit shall return unto God Who gave it. II Cor.5:6 for this reason we are continually constructive, understanding that, on the same time as we are at domicile interior the physique, we are absent from the Lord: II Cor.5:7 (For we walk via faith, no longer via sight:) II Cor.5:8 we are constructive, I say, and keen extremely to be absent from the physique, and to be present day with the Lord.

I'm very sorry for your loss; unfortunately, those "hands" were most likely not your father's. If your father is in heaven, he is able to watch over you though. You should therefore pray that he gets there.
What I believe:
http://www.orthodoxinfo.com/death/
It's a lot to read, but I couldn't pick up anything less. Traditional Christian belief about death (if you are interested in it, of course) is largely unknown to many people nowadays.

No, but their memory does live on in your heart. My grandpa died on my birthday just over a year ago! That was really hard to deal with and I feel the memories of him in my heart sometimes and I think about him. However, I don't feel his spirit is still here!
