In John 1:1-2, the Apostle John tells us "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. " (2) "He was in the beginning with God.", these verses teach us that the Word, which is Jesus Christ was there in the beginning, the beginning of what, the beginning as we know it.

The apostle Paul also tells us in Colossians 1:16, " For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. ", this tells us that Jesus Christ created everything.

So to your answer to "Was there a Jesus Christ before Mary gave birth to Him"? The Answer is Yes

God the Son always existed. The book of Colossi ans says that He was the Creator of the Heaven and the Earth. The Book of Revelation, Jesus say : I Am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

Jesus is the third person of the Trinity, and always existed. It wasn't until Mary gave birth to Him, that He received His human qualities.

Has Satan blinded you so that you can not see that Jesus is the image of God? (2 Cor 4:4)

A picture, statue and a mirror are images of the real thing. they have no power unto themselves.

All power and authority has been given to Jesus,

Not that he always had it.

Well, now, let's look at the logic of it. (I know you think logic does not apply to religion, but let's try it anyway.) According to Christians who accept the Trinity, Jesus was/is as much God as the Father and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, He had to have existed throughout time. Therefore, he had to have existed before Mary provided the means to give him a physical body.

You see, it requires belief in a human soul, as well as belief in Jesus as a specific. If you don't have that, the rest of it cannot make sense.

Well yea, there must have been, he was the Son of God. If you believe that we lived before we came here in Heaven, as I do, then yes! I believe we were all in Heaven before we came to this earth, and Jesus Christ was the firstborn son of God. Actually, I believe it's the very beginning of Genesis that states..."In the beginning there was the word and the word was with God." Or something like that...look it up, but the word is Jesus and so Jesus was with God before he came to this earth.
Also, if you believe in the idea of the trinity, which I don't, but if you do, God was always there. So if God and Jesus are one, there you go.

The Son of God existed eternally. Jesus did not have physical body until His birth by Mary.

Jesus is the Word of God ad He is actually the Creator of the Universe.

God is claimed to have "begotten" Jesus (pbuh). Jesus (pbuh) is claimed to be the "Son" of God. "Beget" is a verb which implies an action. No matter how you define what God actually did in order to "beget" Jesus (pbuh), any definition must require that God Almighty performed some action and then Jesus (pbuh) came into being. Before God performed this action Jesus was not. After God performed this action Jesus came into being. Thus, not only is Jesus (pbuh) not eternal, since there was a time (before the "begetting") when he did not exist, but he can also never be co-eternal with God since God was in existence at a time when Jesus was not. This is very simple grade-school logic.

Given that Jesus was a combination of the genetic gift of Mary and the spiritual gift of god, then I would have to say, "no." There could not possibly be a Jesus prior to his birth. This action makes him a demigod given the circumstances of his birth. Half human - half god.

In essence, Jesus would be very similar to Kastor and Polydeukes. Twin brothers from Greek mythology, their father was Zeus and their mother, a mortal named Leda.

Yes. In John 1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning." The whole chapter of John 1 refers to the Word as a "he" who was with God. Then, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us." If you believe the words, then Jesus must have existed before his own birth.
