Does anyone have a convertible car seat that has the bar that goes down in front of him or her? Does the padding on that part comes off to be washed. If so what seat was is. And what is your recommendation on car seat for a one-year-old, 22 pounds. Not expensive.

It has been a long time (about 7 years) since I have seen a car seat like that. If that car seat is older than 5 years old, it is recomended that you discard that one and buy a new one. Honey, they don't make anything inexpensive for a baby anymore. I have been using a car seat for my 2 year old since before he turned 1. It is made by Safety First and has the 5-point harness system instead of the arm in front. Because it was also made for smaller children, I guess it is why I paid like $80 for it. It has worked really well and is still in good condition. Wouldn't suggest the car seats with the bar that goes down in front of them, I have seen too many smart children figure out how to climb out while strapped in securely.

yeah i have one of those seats. on the bottom of the bar, just pull (close to the ends) and there are 2 snap things on with side. they are usually the same kind of snap as the ones on the bottom of the seat cover.
