If you don't believe in ghosts or spirits please don't bother to answer this question. In my house you can always hear a door closing even when you know no one is around, hear knocking when no one is at the door, or hear banging in the closet when nothing is in there. So, I know for a fact my house is haunted. Also, I'm not the only one who had these expieriences. My family and friends have all witnessed this, so I refuse to believe we're ALL crazy and making this up. I have a two year old golden retriver and lately at night I see him attacking and fighting with something that I can't see. He has never been an agressive dog and has never bitten anyone in his life. He's usually a very quiet and gentle dog. Last night, he leaped in front of me and began barking. His barking turned into a deep vicious growl and then began bitting the air. I even took him to the vet to see if he has any behavioral problems. She said he was fine. Is he just seeing spirits? Please serious answers only.

No my dog wasn't reacting to my fears because I wasn't even scared at the time. I was just walking to the dinning room when he started acting like that. I didn't become scared until he was growling and attacking the air.

hey i beleive u...I had a rottweiler for 10 years and when we moved to Minnesota we rented a house that had a basement but it was a creepy basement. My husband worked nights at the time and i would always close the basement door ( it was a pull door that was at the top of the stairs). Well my dog would always sit at the door and she would growl at it underneath the door and bark and fiercely protect the upstairs. like she wasnt letting whatever was downstairs come upstairs with my and my son. So yeah i beleive and know that dogs have a sense for things like this. Your dog is letting the spirit know to leave u and his/her family alone or maybe this ghost is aggitating the dog who knows just know that he/she is protecting u and always feel safe with him around :)

My little dog will just stop and look down the hall or in the kitchen with her tail tucked. I feel bad because she acts scared. Some people say they have seen a fog or something. I don't know what to think.

If you are not a Christian then don't read this. Ghost are of Satan. There is no such thing as ghost. Pray and ask the Lord to bless your house and if there's any evil in it to have it leave. Also, next time you see your dog acting like this, pray and I bet he stops. If you've never asked the Lord to be your Savior then it won't matter anyways. Not being rude, even though it sounds that way.

i believe you....my house is also haunted. i have had doors lock and then swing open by themselves, have seen things in here, others have seen and heard things, and the previous owner's wife was shook by something here. i have cats. they have, at times, looked at something that i haven't been able to see, interacted with something that i haven't been able to see. so i am guessing that your dog is also seeing something that you are not able to see. the fact that you have taken him to the vet for a checkup and all is fine leads me to believe that he is not suffering from any behavioral or psychological problems. as long as the spirit or whatever is going on in your house isn't being violent or harmful to you, i would continue to stay there. you might also might want to think about seeing if you could capture anything on film or on a taperecorder. good luck.

I don't know if it's a fact or just a myth. But, honestly, I have heard from many people that dogs do have the ability to see what can't be seen by human eyes (i.e. spirits). Dogs' ears are far more sensitive than human's and can pick up stuffs we can't hear. so I guess, it's not impossible that their visions are much more sensitive than ours, too.

It could very well be a ghost. Dogs and other animals are supposed to be able to sense things like that. I'm not saying that I do or don't believe in ghosts, as I've never experienced anything like that, but they could be real.

How do you know this? Did your dog tell you he was seeing spirits? If he did, maybe you have had too many "spirits".

I believe this is true. Dogs can see things we can not. They can see spirits, ghosts and know when something bad is going to happen before it happens.
Sounds like your dog is protecting you from these spirits. They may not be bad spirits but they may also not like dogs.

Maybe your dog is reacting to an emotion you're feeling at the time: FEAR.
