i am gonna throw out some of my own personal ideas here..... if your face is long and/or thin, bangs might help. if it is round then i say only go with a side-swiped bang. if your forehead is more than 3 inches, then there is room for bangs.
if you have a short face/small face or short forehead etc... then i really don't think it is a good idea.
