The Process of Christlikeness
Romans 8:28-30
You’ve heard the saying, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, in the case of man and God, it’s true. We please and honor the Lord when we try to be like Him. In Romans chapter eight, the apostle Paul lays out the process God uses to transform believers into reflections of Himself.
Starting in verse 29, Paul writes about those the Lord foreknew.. Foreknowledge involves more than simply seeing events in advance. It also includes bringing to pass whatever the Lord desires for His children’s lives. Foreknowledge specifically involves conforming believers to His image. God has a plan for which He sees the beginning, middle, and end.
Paul also wrote that all believers are predestined. God knew before Creation who would choose to receive salvation and who would reject it. All those who are saved are predestined to be formed in His image.
Verse 30 tells us that believers are also called. God places on the heart a desire to know Him. The call goes out to every person because it is not the Lord’s will that any should perish. However, few will act upon His offer and seek salvation (John 3:16; Matthew 7:14).
Paul also explains that Christians are justified. Whoever hears God’s call and receives salvation is declared no longer guilty. The stain of sin is wiped away.
And finally, we learn that those made holy by the blood of Christ are glorified. Living believers regard themselves as becoming like Jesus. But the Father sees them in their future imperishable bodies — as perfect reflections of Himself.
Humans think of time in segments. But God doesn’t operate that way. That’s why He can foreknow His children in their glory. And everything He allows into a Christian’s life is designed to shape him or her into a glorious reflection of Himself.

I believe we are chosen for salvation, but still have free will. There are many things God doesn't allow our "free will" to negotiate: eye color, gender, gravity, the shape of our planet, who our parents would be, etc. I believe that our ultimate salvation falls into the same category as these other things, as something that He will arrange for us without needing our vote on it. We have free will within God-ordained parameters, but we don't have Sovereign will, which is a different thing altogether and which is God's alone.

Dear eaglet,
Salvation is of God. The Lord chooses whom He is going to save. Ephesians 1:3-5 tells us that these individuals were chosen before the world was even created.
The Bible tells us in Romans 3 that there is "none that seeketh after God." Becuae we are dead in sins and trespasses, we are unable to "seek" the God of the Bible. That is why the Lord Jesus has to seek us! "For many are called, but few are chosen. "

God's plan is for all to have salvation, but God gave us the Free Will to either accept or deny His salvation.

Salvation comes when you ask God to come into your life, and you accept Him as your saver. You ask him to cleans your blood with the holy spirit and you believe that Jesus died so that you will not die, but have everlasting life. You will still have free will, but you have a choice to obey the ten commandments, and ask forgiveness for your sins and keep God in everything you do.

i challenge you to force yourself to believe in something in which you simply do not believe. go ahead try it. it doesn't have to be something religious. just pick something you presently don't believe and try forcing yourself to believe in it anyway.
belief isn't a choice. it's not about "free will". it's like Love ... it either is or isn't true for you.
"chosen by god" is such an obvious appeal to a needy ego that i'm constantly amazed how many folks are so dishonest with themselves as to use being "chosen" as a crutch, as a way to be "special".
yeah and the "special" kids always ride on the short bus

The Catholic Church has continuously taught that all who're kept are kept through following a straightforward, straightforward and recommended experience of authentic and incorrect regardless of non secular association or lack thereof. yet she also teaches that the authentic thanks to have the form of expertise of authentic and incorrect is to be an incredibly member because the Catholic Church on my own is in finished possession of the actuality. this signifies that when you consider that there is in hardship-free words one actuality, no one will be kept outdoors the Catholic Church, yet all who're kept are kept through this one actuality through an exceedingly particular religious union with the Church through way of, a minimum of, an implicit reason. Whoever has the rationalization behind doing the right aspect if widely used is worth of God's mercy. Salvation won't be able to be any incorrect way when you consider that Jesus on my own is the way, the actuality and the existence. yet in hardship-free words God may be the choose.

No He does not choose us for salvation. We are given free will so that we come to him freely. God does not want mindless followers but followers who believe what they have read and have used their brain to choose for ourselves.

We are all chosen by God. We are created in his image and all have a purpose in his kingdom. We have free will. It is human nature to do what we want to do. Through God we are forgiven.
We as humans must choose if we want to follow him.
