Even though a police car starts out as a great car with lots of desirable heavy duty parts, by the time that a city is ready to get rid of it the car is pretty much worn out. It has been running 8 or 16 hours a day, been driven fast, possibly crashed to stop a fugitive, and been puked in by a bunch of drunken perps. It isn't worth much (sort of like a worn out taxi cab) so I am not sure why you want it.

They usually end up at auction sites, probably marked as police cars in catalog. They don't go for very high prices since they are due for a lot of used-up parts needing replacement.

You mean formerly owned police cruisers? Only at private government auctions.
