Spaying=female dog.......Neutering=male dog.....And yes whether its a male or female, it will make the dog allot calmer. When you neuter a male dog it calms them down and they aren't so horny, also when there is another female in your area that is in heat, he won't care so much as to go and find her. When you spay a female dog, she too will be calmer, she will not be able to have puppies because she will no longer go into heat. And since she is no longer going into heat she will no run away from you to find a male dog to breed with her.

You would neuter your male dog, not spay(females are spayed). I'm not sure what you mean by your dog being horny, but if your dog humps you or a member of your family, it's not necessarily sex related. Humping another is a sign of establishing dominance in the dog world, so you might want to revise your status in your pack....And neutering will help make your life and his life easier, since you won't have to put up with his raging hormones when other females come into heat...How old is your dog, anyway?

Its not spading, its spaying. Spaying is for female dogs. Male dogs are neutered. It makes them not so horny, calmer and less likely to run away.

For one thing, if it is a male dog, they don't get spade, they get neutered. yes it will calm him down but some dogs especially small breeds doesn't necessarily make them any less horny. that depends on the age of your dog, the breed, and your reactions to the behavior. You have to be in control of your dog, and show him that this behavior is unacceptable.

Yes, neutering a male dog or spaying a female dog will calm them and less sexually aggressive especially if done before 6 mo of age.

You spay a female, you neuter a male. It takes several months for the hormones to be gone from the system, but it's not going to necessary change any behaviour problems you have allowed to develope in the meantime.

you neuter a male. and it does help. It also depends on how old they are some of that behavior is a learned behavior and habit, but it does help. Also mounting "which some people see as Horney" is not always a sexual thing. Many times it is a dominance thing. That is why you sometimes see females do it

My dog's a female. I'll be spaying her later. She's not so horny now - ask again in 8 mos.
