I'm not quite sure why some employees are snobby. Perhaps they get hit on alot. Perhaps they thing they are being professional. I prefer more of a friendly approach. Still I don't believe the customer is always right. (Don't tell my boss that). Thats just saying we want your money at any price, unfortunately Ive seen some custoomers who were real monsters and If I was the boss I would not subjest my employees to that kind of abuse. Anyhow I don't know if this was relative or not. A few girls I know won't go back to star bucks because they have had a few negative experiances so maybe they should be paying more attention if for no other reason than losing business.

YOU ARE WRONG
maybe you are the snob???
every time i go into a starbucks the employees get all starry eyed.
last time i went, the girl there made a drink for me that they dont even sell and i gave it to my sister.
she went and made me a drink that they dont sell, she didnt have to do that for me. it was very nice of her. my sister wanted me to get it for her for her and it was hey bday, the employee was very nice. she didnt have to make it and i never even left her a tip...
try leaving them tips, they should be nice if there is something in it for them...
understand that they work at starbucks... they should not be happy there... they are slaving for very low pay while the starbucks stock holders make 90-98% of the profits fromt he joint and the workers are only getteing 2-5% (or less) of the money that comes from there work...
i went to starbucks around 1:00 pm... there girl there was hitting the wrong buttons on the register and the register showed that there was 1,000 dollars in it.
the girl had been running it for hours and there was $1,000 dollars made... how much did she get out of it? less than $50..
so she only made less than 5% of the money that she made the stockholders...
my point is, these people are slaves, so cut them some slack ..
i think this has alot to do with 911... the stocks
god dont like slavery .
if the employee got 50% of the money that came from the work, then that girl would have made $500 working at starbucks that day. imagine what the world could be if everyone cared.
it would not cause inflation cuz someone already has the money and its not the right person that earned it.
ANYWAY, NEXT TIME YOU GO THERE, TELL THE HAG TO GET RYTHYM

You can't generalize about people. While some may be snobs, others aren't. You can't say all of one type of people are something. Because most often that is not true. Also, It depends on exactly who it is..Most of the Starbucks employees I've met up with are nice. Maybe you just have bad luck and meet all the not-nice-ones or you go to the cafe at the time of the day when they are most stressed.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. What happened? I wonder why you have experienced this. I just started working for Starbucks, and I agree the customer does come first in this business. I hope you encounter friendlier, less snobbish barristas, etc.

Next time you go there, on the condiment stand there are comment cards. Send it off with your real name and address. Starbucks has really high standards of Legendary Service, so they really appreciate when people write in when something is wrong. Good old feedback!

That's so funny you would say that. it's not just starbucks though, it seems like a lot of coffee type houses in general have that. what a weird thing to become a stereotype, but there're times i just don't want to deal with it so i won't even go in....
I guess when you serve coffee and call yourself a fancy name like "barista" it just goes with the territory.

they think because they work there they may be better than everyone else but i equate working at starbucks to working at mcdonalds, theyll take just about anyone. maybe they are snobby because they sneak drinks all day long and are pumped full of caffeine...
