I don't know... I don't think they publish that information, although it is heavily researched.

I personally think it is more accurate to say that the pope "recognized" four more saints. All that the process does is make a public declaration of it; the theology on the subject of saints makes it clear that there are more saints out there than are recognized by the Vatican.

Dear R035,

In truth, the Pope cannot make anyone a "saint." I know that the catholic church has decreed that "so and so" is now a saint but that is not true. The term "saint" refers to someone who has been saved or born again. In the Bible God uses the terms, "elect", "saint", "wheat", "remnant", among others to refer to those who have been washed of their sins and given eternal life. No man can see into the soul of another to determine if he/she is saved or a saint.
As for miracles in this present day, the only miracle that is occurring is salvation from sin. God (Jesus Christ) is the only One that can work that miracle.

The pope has absolutely no spiritual/Divine authority to be appointing Saints. If he "makes" a Saint, their sanctity is not worth the piece of paper on which it may be written, to God, or to the Universe.

There are strict critearia upon which sanctity is earned according to the Divine Laws. Only very few Souls make it. Of the many millions of Souls, there are currently only 300 candidates.

Please read "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website, if this interests you, but I can assure you that pope's authority is quite meaningless in Divine terms.

Rational Spirituality is a fast growing knowledge about God and Universe, followed by the thinking people. Should you decide to read it, enjoy it, as we did!

I am not a Christian-I do not know who are the other 3 Preists on whom the Pope confered the "Sainthood" But the 4 th Person MOTHER THERESA really deserves "Sainthood"/Noble Peace Prize and some thing more than that. The selfless service she has rendered to the Lepors, the Poor,Down-trodden and Destitutes in Bengal(India) in her Nunnery -which no other human being has rendered. She has physically carried Lepors near whom, very many people were not even willing to go and closing their nose!! She was not only a SAINT,but God incrnation in human body .

Don't know the 4 you're talking about, but I do know they don't have to perform any miracles in their life time. Sometimes a miracle may be attributed to their remains, or something that they once owned.

post script for Mary: see Mother Teresa.
