You might want to consult your local Department of the Environment, or equivalent, to see whether it's legal to introduce non-native species into the lake.

Copper sulfate is a chemical that destroys algae quite well while not harming other species. If you are willing to use a chemical, copper sulfate (specifically Earthtec) is a great treatment.

Try Barley straw it is a natural algae inhibitor. Try to plant Barley ,it is on Internet used for small yard pools .

get the water snails. They look cool. and work well
