I love these brain teasers and it took me less than a minute to work this out...

The old man has 3 sons and 4 daughters...

Any one of his daughers would have 3 brothers and 3 sisters

Any one of his sons would have 2 brothers and 4 sisters (i.e. twice as many sisters)
