He did his job quite well.
His main task was diplomatic to take the maximum out of the resources he had has his disposal.
He needed a lot of diplomacy and not so much tactical (military) capacities due to the lot of big ego's he had under his command Montgomery, Patton, Bomber Harris (though indirectly), Bradley, ... Political influence FDR, Churchil, De Gaul, ...
I would not have liked to be in his place.
Still he was a gentlemen that was discreet about all the problems.
Some of his tactical choises that are now criticised were logic at the time they were taken. Afterwards when you know the result it is easy to say he was wrong.

Being a bit of a history buff - I would say that President Eisenhower's performance in duty - was supreme - he did win the war for England - his strengths were obvious - true leadership - loved - his only weakness was his manhood - like most men, he needed a female partner and his wife was in the US - so go figure! Go to www.google,com and get all the facts!

Most of the troups hated him because he stayed back in England during the major battles. The troups wanted to go after the Germans but Ike was to busy playing politics with the British that things did not get done right. The major thing was he let the city of Berlin fall to Russia.
He stated that if he knew it would have caused as much trouble as it did with Berlin he would have ordered the troups to go into Berlin and capture it rather than have the Russians.

Eisenhower did no longer have a conflict happening whilst he became president. It became rather a time of peace and prosperity even with the chilly conflict. It became sturdy cases and he's the final repuglican that ran the rustic devoid of rapeing its undesirable. Bush purely undemanding sucks. As proved by ability of his approval score.

Your opinion is what the teacher is looking for. There's no right or wrong answer. I know who you are and i know your teacher. Be honest, do your research, and write YOUR opinion. Even if your teacher does not agree with you, you can still get an A if you can support your arguement. Good luck!
