I have a friend that is struggling with Chritianity as the "only" true religion. He will say how can you discount Islam, Budda, Hindu etc..
I am looking for a book the will defend Christianity against all other religions and, give proof for the validity of the Bible as being the Word of God

The bible is the only proof that is available. There is no other book that explains it as well as itself.

I see what you're saying, but I think there are other factors you have to consider. One of them you already mentioned: in a society where homosexuality is somewhat socially acceptable (whether it's certain countries today, or certain past cultures, etc.) it's hard to say off hand whether there really more homosexuals per capita today, or is it just that you see so many who are open about being "out of the closet". Another thing is that there are other factors that contribute to over-population. I know that missionaries going to 3rd world countries and saying "you need to do better, but don't use birth control!" certainly contributes. But when you have an exponential growth rate, it's just the nature of mathematics that the numbers grow bigger and bigger in shorter and shorter time frame, even if habits don't change. Just look at the graph of any exponential curve. Yet another thing to consider, and I think more importantly, is whether the biological argument here is sound. In a population competing for resources, it is certainly better (if not inevitable) for the whole population that it doesn't grow too big. But when you factor in things like economics and health care, it becomes more of a question of sociology than biology.

Dear ursdcas,

The Bible is the best reference concerning any question of doctrine or practice. May I offer an example? When bankers are are being trained, they are not shown counterfeit bills and told to study them. They are given United States currency and directed to study it very closely--the texture of the paper, the markings on the bills, the color, and the postitioning of the text... That way if a counterfeit does show up, they identify it immediately.
Please check my references.

Try listening to the radio show, "The Bible Answer Man".

Their organization studies and researches so that clear Biblical answeres are available to most questions. CRI has no Denominational ties

Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

I had friends who were atheist read this, they had so many questions that only Christianity had the most logical answers to. I hope this helps.

Haha, that's funny. I'm sure the Muslims, Buddhists, and Hinduists would like to know why they're wrong as well.

*sigh*

There is no such proof... I've been looking for it for years. If there was such a book, a lot of atheists here would probably be Christian.

why not get some books on these other faiths for your friend... and let your friend decide
if Christianity is for them ... then these books will only confirm that
if not ,... then these books will help your friend find what is closest to their heart
support your friend x
