They can't go outside because of the area we live in. i don't need comments like I should move because that's not a option right now. I live in a big city and can't find programs, sports, or camps the older ones can attend.

If you're in a big city, you should have a YMCA or a Boys and Girls club. They have low/no cost activites for just about every age group. They should be listed in the phone book.
Scouting is a good choice too. Both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts have troops in every city. Go to http://www.girlscouts.org/ or http://www.scouting.org/ to find the council for your area and contact them about troops. Girl Scouts has a program for 5 year olds but not Boy Scouts.
If you attend a church, check with them to see about youth programs. Most churches do have clubs, groups, etc., for kids.
Go to your kids' school and see if there are clubs or activities there. Most schools even have information about other groups that have activities.
Also, check with child and youth services (or whatever they call that department in your state). They may be able to hook you up with some programs and you may be able to get help with the cost at the same time.

Well, when i was 11 and 5 my mom used to take me out to the park every Saturday, and we used to watch the sun go down. Maybe you all can try that, try to get your children active in the community go to the library and read a book, that will be a good way to enforce to your 5 year old that reading is good. When your children are active more than likely when they grow up you can count on that they wont be couch potato's, and mope around the house anymore. Start a family tradition, go to the park and read . Enjoy the blessings in life with your children because they grow up so fast.

you should try calling your local DCF or CPS and ask them where the activities are. and if thats not an option either you should try taking them to the Zoo. They might have activities there for an 11 year old. And there are always team sports for the community. You should find out if a local pizza place has a team or something.

Be creative. I have a friend who couldn't afford camp for her kids so she started her own. She had the kids make advertisements. She didn't charge anything but took donations to cover the costs of crafts, etc. Other parents ended up sharing skills they had for free.

Try a church--great resource for many activities and usually free or cheap.

There must be a park or school activities... Look in your phone book under recreation. Look in your paper for current events. You will probably have to go with them. If they are boys sign up boy scouts, if girls girl scouts.... There are gymnastics, karate, dance... swim teams... many things are there even in the city.

Do you have any museums or a zoo around? That would be a nice trip to take and all of them would enjoy it.
