It's very different for different people. Some guys might just be straight and tell her that he likes them, others may try subtle flirting or becoming friends with the said person, whereas others may do very little to show a girl he likes her...

I'll walk over to her and just give her a good sock on the arm. but seriously. I'll initiate conversation, interject some light humor. If she actually laughs at my stupid s#### and doesn't get confused when I'm using words with more than one syllable, then I consider that a good thing and depending on how future conversations go, I will invite her to come see my ant farm.

show extra special attention, especially if she's known you as a friend. if you've just met, buy her dinner+drinks+flowers.
