I chose to travel around Paris last Christmas however, it was not so great due to the crappy weather. It was raining and snowing, and Paris looked far less than pretty. I'm thinking of travelling around Switzerland this Christmas, but I'm afraid it is not good to travel there during winter.

winter in the Swiss flat areas (e.g., Zurich, Luzern) tend to be somewhat dreary; they get this weird fog/cloud hanging right above the cities, cold temperatures, and sun may not come out until the afternoon. as for rain/snow, that's something you'll see anywhere (depends on luck). in the Alps (and above the clouds), there is usually lots of sun and quite nice. for me, i prefer winter weather, and snow makes Switzerland even more enchanting than in the summer time (which can get hot), so i guess it comes down to personal preference.

We went there around the new year and it was the prettiest time of year. It is so cold up there that by that time there is lots of snow. If you don't like icy roads use the train system. The trains there are great! You can go almost any where in the country on them from the top of a mountain to the bottom of a very low valley. Grindelwald, Murren, Interlocken, and the Jungfrau are all great winter places to go(especially if you have a sled!)

Starwalker's a wee bit optimistic about when the sun comes out in Zurich. It may not come out for months, not just "until afternoon". The first winter we lived here, my daughter who was two forgot what a shadow was.
If you don't like snow though, I don't know what you find pretty.

perhaps you want to have a holiday in the Philippines for 2 years. Going round for 2 years is too ong and severe priced. locate first a kinfolk to make acquaintances with and guidance guide you.
